Remember the split screens for the verdict and the different reactions by race to the O.J. verdict? Now...of course...not all people's reactions to that verdict were universal by race...but to Caucasian American's the different reactions was astonishing. How in the world could Black American's have such a different idea about justice...was how white folks were generally positioned to feel about the black reaction.
It was a slap in the face to white America...a wake up slap to the face about differences in perceptions about the police and about the perceptions of justice in America. Indeed, the verdict only fueled the idea of two America's......Now...that's not to say that some white American's didn't see the verdict as "money can buy anything" and proof of our corrupt system of justice - but...those American's weren't cheering in the streets. They were furious.
And certainly, in my opinion, some blacks were appalled for the same reason as money buying so-called justice. But the visceral reactions of most blacks shown by the MSM was due to their apparent belief that the police themselves were corrupt and framing a popular and powerful iconic black man....something that NEVER occurred in the wildest nightmares of the white people. Now...the obvious question for the divergence of opinion about the verdict and the police in general could have ONLY come from one place....experience of blacks with the police of America.
The experience of being framed by overly aggressive cops based on the color of their skin pigment. Of being stopped for no reason...of knowing countless stories of corrupt cops planting drugs and such to get an arrest and promotion perhaps.
