There is a looming trouble in the Rift and the trends happening now can only affirm what the North Rift leaders at the troubled Baring county are murmuring about. With the general elections just at the corner, what does all these jitters and allegiance shifts mean for Jubilee party in the vote rich Rift Valley.

The troubles started long before the current issues and anybody keen about the events that led KANU to back Uhuru-Ruto's re-election, would realize that democratic choices were never given. Even though there was a unanimous agreement to campaign in support for Jubilee, KANU leaders such as Nick Salat could have just come into support due to party demands but not from conviction.

The mistake committed by KANU chairman and senator for Baringo County MR. Gideon Moi then is coming back to haunt the party and now there is nothing that the leaders can do since the ground seems to be dancing so much to the tune of NASA than it does to the Jubilee's. Evidently the ground is fully charged and leaders such as MP Johana Ngeno are affirmation when he publicly stated out his opinion, does this mean that Jubilee is in some form of voter trouble

More trouble

Just days after the President and his deputy concluded their campaigns in the Rift Valley, an addition to the existing trouble has just been confirmed by the outright deceleration of a number of North Rift leaders to support the Presidential bid of NASA flag bearer Raila Odinga.

The leaders who include former Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) director Judith Cheptoo Koskei, former Jubilee Party director David Koech, Aldai MP John Cheruiyot, MP for Chesumei Elijah Lagat, former Eldoret South MP Peris Simam, Stephen Tarus (Emgwen) and Jesse Maiz (Eldoret South) have publicly voiced out their decision to rally their support behind the candidacy of NASA arguing that it was the most suitable following its objective to focus on immediate economic interests of the region.

In their statements, the leaders accused Jubilee of plunder in which Mr. Lagat added that "the road projects Jubilee government glorify were done during the Grand Coalition regime and includes Mosoriot-Kaiboi, Chepterit-Kapsisiywa in Nandi and even the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR).”

On his part, Mr Tarus who was interested in Agricultural economy argued that it was so cheap of Kalenjin nation to think of the unsure 2022 arithmetic yet their economy was subsiding. Mr. Tarus further questioned why farmers are still suffering and moreover why the fertilizer factory that was promised by Jubilee Party turned down to be go-down.
