It's called oppo research

By now you might have seen the interview, and depending on the possibility that you read the Mueller Report (which I did sadly) or if you didn't, you might be surprised or wondering why people are shocked (which I am). Truth is, the report already told us the attitude of the Trump team on this subject.

It doesn't matter

That's what the outraged media does not seem to get. You see, they've used up all their bullets on petty stupid things, like the story of the boy who cried wolf. This means of course, that if there is something that could be considered a scandal, reporting on it would not help much.

The normal Joe Blow sees this "admission" as honesty, and likes it. That's the truth, and it might be painful for some people to admit it. Let's be honest about something, do we actually believe that there's no corruption and that nobody takes "oppo research" from dubious sources? I for one, don't believe that for a second.

I should say however, that this does not mean that it's ok, I'm not endorsing it, I'm simply stating the fact that this "outrage" is nothing, it's just a Thursday and that's all.

Power>Law

This is true for all powerful people, and we need to face the music. If it wasn't true, Hillary would be in jail, and Manafort would be serving twenty years or more, instead of the tiny sentence he was given.

So let me set the record straight: If you are going to do oppo research, make sure you are powerful enough to get away with it, that's the requirement, nothing else would suffice. If your pockets are not deep enough as to buy loyalties, you might have to do some time, but otherwise you are good to go.

Yes, I'm a bit of a cynic, I realize that. But, I'm not impressed nor entertained these days with the "WE GOT EM.... WE GOT EM..." Crowd.

Sadly, the justice system isn't fair. If it were, then a cheap lawyer would be as good as an expensive one. Wealth/power/connections go a long way.
