Our Second Amendment to the Constitution reads "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

The effect(and intent) of the second amendment is to not let our government get too "uppity". Whether they want to admit it or not you, no matter WHO you are, don't just push around 100 million heavily armed americans (1 out of three people in the US own guns)

If the US didn't HAVE guns we'd end up just like Venezuela. All the citizens of Venezuela can do is stompy-foot, whine, cry, protest and hope someone ELSE steps in and does something. They are powerless to do anything themselves.

If the government says you don't need a gun.....you NEED a gun.

I full support your right of having guns as its stated in ths usa constitution, here in venezuela people can have guns. Is not forbidden by the law, but we decided to not take the violent road of a civil war. I am 100% percent sure that the problem is not in that area. Many bad goverments have been overthrowned by doing non violent protests and inteligent strategies by the oposition.

We are not "stompy-foot, whining and crying" when we do massive protests like this, we do this because everytime is done, the goverment looses a little bit of power and popular acceptation, and that translates in a faster road to the referendum. Also the opposition leaders do this as a sign of strength to encourage people in this road, and to announce new plans to keep the referendum going . We have now a plan to continue this "fight" going on.

I really believe that every country has the right to follow their own path, and i respect the way usa is and their history, but i see no point in saying something offensive towards our people, even taking in account that we are responsible of the freedom of almost all of southamerica.

Thanks mate

that's a "time will tell" i would say. their still in the streets NOW with what actual results? 2/4 steps to go? as good as 0, sorry to say...

Hi Man, could help me promote it a bit??? So people would find out about the situation in venezuela. Share with your friends

I'm from Venezuela, I live in Miami. All my family is still in Venezuela, including mom, dad and brothers. The problem is not only the government, but the opposition as well. Wasted opportunities over and over again and people got tired of being lied to from both sides. You may be right about the pacific path to independence, but speaking from my family's perspective, after La toma de Caracas (which they had to travel since the weekend just to be sure they wouldn't miss it) they lost all confidence in opposition leaders, after being told that they had shown that they could fill all the major streets in Caracas ( WE ALREADY KNEW THIS BEFOREHAND) and it was time to go home with no answers from the government.

Yesterday, the government just gave another slap in the face to all Venezuelans and the constitution by setting election dates for 2017. And what? No reaction... we'll have to comply to whatever they come up with.

THANK YOU for sharing this, I think the world is still not aware of how bad the situation is.
