SCO | Shanghai Cooperation Organisation | Asian G7

After the G7 occurred on Friday/ Saturday, there was a similar meeting on the eastern part of the world in Qingdao, China. They met just hours after the G7 meeting has occurred and in this meeting, Russia is included. This organisation was formed by China and Russia in an effort to counter balance the growing western influence in the world. President Xi Jinping spearhead the conversation and according to this report, called on is partners in the region to "boost harmony and unity by seeking common ground and setting aside differences." (specifically talking about India and Pakistan).

The SCO was start in 1990s and official created in 2001 as a way to combat western influence which was growing all over the world. China and Russia were at the forefront of this partnership given that they both had powerful economies at that time.

The SCO anniversary which occurred a few hours after the G7 was also to present it's newest member states, Pakistan and India, which both have their famous rivalry. In this G7 meeting India refused to accept the BRI or CPAC, which is a series of routes and network railway systems which go through all of the member states and end up in Pakistan to do trade. Their main reason was that this will go through Pakistan administered Kashmir, however I fail to see why. Because it is Pakistan administered Kashmir area I don't see why India hates it because at least it doesn't pass through Jammu and Kashmir.

However, that's not all that was talked about in the meeting as they talked about terrorism, security, cross border patrol and crackdown on drugs and organised crime within the member states. XI Jinping appreciated all the member states efforts in dealing with such issues and continues to discuss the future of the organisation. Compared to the G7 this meeting was much more organised and there wasn't any disagreement or surprise actions taken by other member states.
