The point to always come back to is... how do we preserve individual liberties. The answer is limited government. The struggle to decentralized and shrink government is centered around the power to resist which means "the people" need to be armed to defend against tyranny. Disarming people allows the government to grow as they become emboldened... that's why the constant push for gun control. These stupid young people don't realize that by marching and fighting for gun control, they are fighting to take their right away to defend themselves again government tyranny. But socialist/communist forces back these marches and protests because they know it will weaken individual liberties. Americans should be armed if they personally choose to, are trained and have a permit!! I rarely hear the real issue debated, which is this: The problem of the violent use of guns is to be solved without taking away guns from law abiding citizens. Guns are needed to protect us from tyranny - the "government" oppressing us. Limiting the presence of guns because of violent uses of guns in our homes and communities is not going to happen because I want my gun so my government cannot take away my freedoms..... This IS the true intent by our founding fathers for the 2nd Amendment.
