There's nothing wrong with socialism. Compared to its antithesis, capitalism, anyway. Capitalism spawns some of the worst human beings that ever lived: Trump (no explanation necessary?), Murdoch (the ultimate fake news network: Fox), Bezos (richest man of all time - could have something to do with him abusing his workforce?).
Ultimately, the most important thing in life is the planet and the environment. When it's fucked, we'll be screwed. We'll probably take most other species down with us too, of course.
And ultimately it all boils down to greed. Pollution will forever get worse (even if the Paris agreement slows the damage). There'll always be a shitbag somewhere happy to cut corners / attempt to get away with breaking laws. Both on an individual person scale and on a national scale.
