It is known as the Popular Sandinista Revolution, the Nicaraguan Revolution, or simply the Sandinista Revolution, to the process opened in Nicaragua between July 1979 and February 1990, led by the Sandinista National Liberation Front (called in memory of Augusto César Sandino). to the dictatorship of the Somoza family, overthrowing the third of the Somozas, Anastasio Somoza Debayle, replacing it by a democratic government with a progressive leftist profile. Undoubtedly, the Nicaraguan war that began at the end of the 1970s with the triumph of the Sandinista revolution is one of the most resounding echoes in the recent history of the Central American wars, where poor countries such as GUATEMALA, NICARAGUA, and EL SALVADOR suffered disdain and misery by political and geographical potions, on the one hand the USSR through CUBA supporting the radical left, and on the other side of the United States with its strong military support to the Central American dictatorships.

regardless of where it is or the side that had the reason no doubt that many innocent died and not more than having memory to remember this past that only brought poverty where there were no winners or defeated.

I hope as a Central American, we do not make the same mistakes of the past "today we breathe airs of peace" as far as conventional warfare is concerned, but we continue to suffer other wars, such as narcotics trafficking and maras, there is certainly a light of hope in which we dream of Central America free from the clutches that historically keep it tied to corruption and poverty.
