The US Code for Treason

US Code Title 18, Part 1, Chapter 115
"Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.

It is embedded into our legal code the penalty for treason can be death, or a slap on the wrist.

Richard Nixon simply got caught up in trying to cover up his people stealing some documents. He wasn't pointed at as the focus because, if I remember correctly, it was Republican underlings who broke into the Watergate Hotel without him knowing at first.

But this current fella, this Trump fella. It is become clearer and clearer that he likely, and actively, worked with a hostile foreign power in order to win the US presidency.

To me, the decision between death or jail/ fine is the issue of intent.

Nixon got caught up in the ring, but Trump appears to have been the conductor of this situation. From my perspective, it has been Trump's intent to purposely disrupt and divide the United States with the help of a hostile, foreign power in order to gain more fame, money and power. It is an absolute abuse of the entire US political system and has the potential to completely destroy the country. Someone willing to do that, and do it specifically to me, my family, my community, my state and fellow citizens absolutely needs to be sentenced to capital punishment if found guilty.
These people need to be made an example out of, with no mercy, in order to clearly demonstrate to the other bad apples that this shit is over.

I believe the greatest strength of the United States is both our Constitution as well as the people's willingness to adhere to that document. The US has facilitated the greatest freedoms in the history of the world (although it's not perfect we all know) but still, and in my opinion, worth defending.
