don't get your hopes up ... here theres like zounds of parties but in the end the "tripartite" has been on top for about 150 years or more (before that there was only the catholics i suppose and before before that ... the country didnt even exist yet) no matter who wins an election you always get the same faces on tv , they just switch seats from govt to opposition but actually its the same small bunch that gets paid to not even show up ...
yay for the PP though, i kinda remember trying to get in touch with the local "chapter" about ... i think eight years ? ago but i somewhat got the impression they were all drumcircle hippies in no hurry to shout and i actually havent heard anything about them since then, a shame though .. well i lost my right to vote about 15 years ago and frankly i still havent seen any reason to ask it back ... i think i could since dues are paid but i just
i just dont see who to vote for, and it saves me getting up early on sunday - election day ....
(here voting is like legal obligation by default, if you DONT show up you might get a fine) they keep it so because sapients are creatures of habit, which means in this system the classic parties always stay on top ... didnt stop the neo-nationalists (well-disguised as pseudo-liberals back then) from taking over though ... and i havent seen the country get better really ... i think we're heading for a spain-class housing bubble which means if the construction sector crashes all satellite business (thats a LOT in a country where actually only an effective 30% of the total population provides actual work that gives taxes to the governments ... But you know the classic evil ofcouse : the 6% "unemployed" ... statistics are a great thing arent they)
and so on ... and so one .... yea, well i hope in places where PP has decent folk they landslide like hell, NOW is the time, right :) ....
