'Everywhere you go, chaos is left behind' – Russia’s UN envoy to US

The UN Security Council is holding an emergency meeting on security in the Middle East, in the wake of reports of an alleged chemical attack in the Syrian city of Douma.

There is “no doubt” that the alleged chemical attack in Syria’s Douma was staged, said Russia's envoy.

After challenging the narrative of a chemical attack in the suburban Damascus city of Douma as “fake news” – as no evidence was found of the alleged attack or the victims, after Syrian and Russian troops inspected the area liberated from Army of Islam militants – Russia's envoy Nebenzia turned to the remarks made earlier by his US counterpart, Nikki Haley, who said that US and Russia “will never be friends.”

“We’re not particularly keen to be friends with you” the Russian envoy replied. “We’re not begging you for friendship. We want normal, civilized relations – which you arrogantly refuse, disregarding basic courtesy.”

“You are misguided to think you have friends,” Nebenzia cautioned. “Your so-called friends are just those who can’t say no to you. This is your only criteria for friendship.”

The Russian ambassador has a point. The US bullies people and does so under the guise of spreading democracy. It is about time the US were called on their hypocrisy.

I think the Russian Ambassador used interesting language when he said, "You are misguided to think you have friends,” Nebenzia cautioned. “Your so-called friends are just those who can’t say no to you."

I wonder what this means? I think he may have meant that "We will put your so called friends under enormous pressure to tell the truth or else and then we will see how many friends you have in this world". Possibly, Russia will play very serious 'ball' with the leaders of these nations to tell the truth or be annihilated?

What he meant was US does not have friends, only vassals that do what Washington tells them. All others are treated as enemies.
Unlike Washington regime which practices blackmail as main tool of foreign policy, Russia does not 'pressure' leaders of other countries to do as told.
