Some things are Too Wretched to be Civilized; war is one of these things!

in politics •  6 years ago

Ten weapons listed in this video are banned to make war more "civilized"; It is ironic that people think this is possible! Some of the weapons on this list, surprised me a lot.

War, by definition, can never be "Civilized"! This in a way might be a good thing, because if we remove too much of the horror that is war, it might drop our revulsion level to the point; war might become acceptable! This must NEVER happen, war must remain a thing to be avoided due to it's inherent wretched nature! >:(

Thanks, I try. It is good to see people responding! :)

Videos like this really worry me as they demonstrate the lack of knowledge that people have about firearms. For example, hollow points are not banned, there are arguably safer and more effective weapons but this is a huge topic that could be gotten into.

I agree, I have hollow points in my CC in my pocket as we speak, for knock down and minimal chance of someone else being hurt by an exiting jacketed round. I do Not agree 100% with this video, it was presented for debate. Also, if I have to defend myself, the last worry I have is the survival of that attacker!

I was surprised to see brass knuckles on this list too. My first thought was that if they go for the brass knuckles, the can't effectively use a handgun, and it is slow enough to put them on, it places the user at considerable risk. Not a very good tool to bring to a gunfight! :)

I agree but it's still a good video. There are things in government labs to "never be used". Yeah right! Like all laws will be disregarded but these ones? Corrupt psychopaths have a line they won't cross? Not likely.

You are 100% right weapons always remain!

My biggest concern is the Arabs, with the WMDs we did Not get in Iraq in 2003. I listened to General George Sada speak on this subject. He has since written a book on this with names and locations. He was very frank, and I knew he was telling the truth.

On February 2006, Ali Ibrahim al-Tikriti, a former Iraqi general who defected shortly before the Gulf War in 1991, gave an interview to Ryan Mauro, in which he stated:

I know Saddam's weapons are in Syria due to certain military deals that were made going as far back as the late 1980s that dealt with the event that either capitals were threatened with being overrun by an enemy nation. Not to mention I have discussed this in-depth with various contacts of mine who have confirmed what I already knew.

Underground base I bet. Hell, it wouldn't shock me if WE are hiding some of it after going in there (Syria I mean). (sarcastic but somewhat serious)

Three hidden bases from what I have read, and I put nothing out of the possibilities for this swamp! They found enough Saran gas in Iraq, buried in an elementary school playground, to kill half a million people, and it was what they forgot about, and didn't move!

But they still say there was nothing there! >:(

Okay, what is she watching? :)

well well well can't think of nothin to say so you gotta put someone else's video up again. unreal. what from that list surprised you?

Well well well, Just copying your post methods, ROFLOL! :)

Banning brass knuckles seems a little trite for a World Conference on Weapons. YOU didn't find some of this video amusing? Like all the banned weapons that everyone votes against, then stockpiles them as fast as they can?

hhahaha! yeah like them voting against these is going to stop anyone from getting them!

Immoral people in charge will do immoral things! So knowing this do you have an RBC suit and mask?

Or are you not a prepper, LOL? :)

sir smithlabs..no what is an RBC suit and mask? I don't have one do you?

You are seriously asking ME that, LOL? :)

An RBC suit is a suit made for Radiation, Biological, or Chemical protection, and the mask used is a gas mask.

  ·  6 years ago (edited)

ok, and you think we're going to need those? and how much do those things cost and where do you get them?

The essence of prepping is preparing for situations that MIGHT occur. The RBC suit might see use If I must go into town, if I have heard of sickness there. It might just be extra warmth in winter. You always look at multiple use scenario for every item.

Do I think we will be nuked? Possibly. By or own government? Possibly. DO I EXPECT IT TO HAPPEN? No I do not. Have I prepared for it if it does? Yes. I have Gieger counters, Iodine capsules, Dosiometers, RBC suit, gas masks, and a fallout shelter. I pray I never need any of it, but prudence recommends having them.

The costs go up every day, as more people realize the risk. I bought most of this online, but have no idea what it is going for today.

Sorry! :'(

I'm sure armed drones are just fine, huh?

What kind of world allows people to be assassinated without trial, and without any opportunity or possibility to defend yourself?

Well if you are referring to US military UAV remote strikes there are a couple things to consider.

This type of strikes have been executed in the past from manned vehicles, UAV has begun to be used as it is it is a lower risk of life to US military members.

Also in all cases, I'm aware of targets are non-US terrorists which means they are not granted the rights we as citizens are, especially if they are involved in attacks against, the US, her citizens, or her allies.

Hope that helps! Have a great day!

You seem to have a fixation on popcorn, did your popper explode on you when you were little?

The bans seem to focus of non specific kill weapons. The complaint is not against killing, but rather the indiscriminate nature of the weapon.

Drones are part of the reason war itself will remain anathema, SMH! >:(

Some tings a very dangrious things

That is very true! These tools are deadly, but war using less deadly tools, kills more than these banned weapons!

I think that we should ban governments that can't get along, LOL! :)

Seems like only the BAD enemies use the nastiest of weapons...
We 'good-guys' have to kill selectively and nicely...
Strange...
What is even more strange is that some of the 'prohibited' weapons the West sells, are used by other countries.

There can be no nice clean war! We need to learn that, and avoid the
"acceptable" ones!

War needs to be avoided as repugnant; but sadly Mankind has yet to mature enough do away with war itself! :'(
