Truth Still True (Even If Uncovered By Russian Hackers)steemCreated with Sketch.

Beware, inflammatory political post follows. You don't have to agree with me. YMMV.

I didn't really lend credence to the whole "liberal media bias" thing until they seemingly somehow convinced people that leaking factual information is legitimately labelled as a "foreign government [trying] to impact the integrity of our elections" (—Obama) and that good/improved relations between two of the world's largest nuclear superpowers is somehow a bad thing... simply because "Russia".

Then again, I shouldn't be surprised. They did the same thing trying to frame Snowden and Manning as criminals, too. (One of whom is only alive because of Russia and the FSB. Remember when the USA were the good guys?)

Beware anyone who actively opposes a more informed electorate, including Obama (who seems to actually be preparing for some sort of war action, be it via IP or IRL). It's also quite worth noting that it was his administration that tortured Manning for exposing war crimes (after Obama personally declared her guilt before trial) and has illegally detained Assange (both incidents having been recognized by the UN as illegal violations of their human rights), so I'm not sure why I'm surprised anymore. Perhaps your collective appreciation for the mass drone murderer Obama has rubbed off on me.

I'm having a real hard time seeing these accused "Russian hackers" as the bad guys here (regardless of who they may be or what country they may be from), no matter how many times "foreign" and "election" are thrown around in the same headline. They did a lot more digging around the corrupt DNC than our domestic media did.

Excellent article! When did journalism become hacking?

I'm more inclined to suspect insider leakers over foreign hackers.

This is the same problem I have with infosec "threat intelligence": It does not matter who did it. The only things that affect the future are the how and the what. Everything else is an emotional distraction from the facts of how to address it.

The how is "because the DNC is incompetent at IT and corruptly preventing democratic candidate selection". The what is "making the public more informed".

A news story I heard yesterday or the day before on Fox News said that Podesta was phished. Subsequently I heard, also from Fox News, that WickiLeaks got the information from someone who had legitimate access to it.

I think you are right: It does not matter who did it, particularly since the information was more or less proven to be true.

Okay, I may be biased as a Russian, but what exactly is inflamatory in your post?

I like when stuff like this happens to my country, even when it fans the flames of people who think that Russia is teh evulz, and worst place to be. As far as my experience goes all of the governments to some extent or another, and usually that extent is higher than we'd all like it to be.

A lot of people in my demographic really like Obama and are excessively accepting of his administration and decisions, and they severely dislike Trump (which is valid because he's a misogynistic nazi) and think anything that benefits him is inherently wrong—without real analysis.
