Protesters are demanding that two demands be met:
1. Introducing a rehabilitation supplement for disabled people unable to live independently after the age of 18 in the amount of PLN 500 per month without the income criterion.
2. Equal amount of social pension with the lowest ZUS pension for total inability to work (PLN 1029) and gradual increase of this amount to the equivalent of the subsistence minimum calculated for a household with a disabled person (for a healthy person alone in 2017 was PLN 1134 ). For comparison, the lowest salary in Poland is 2000 PLN (476 EUR).
The politicians of the ruling party have proposed a bill in the Parliament as a parliamentary bill, which makes it possible to bypass social consultations. "The parliamentary bill on specific solutions supporting people with severe disabilities" is slightly above the page (with justification - five pages) and boils down to three changes:
- The abolition of "periods of use of medical devices, specified in the provisions on reimbursement of medicines, medical supplies for particular nutritional purposes and medical devices" (for example for an electric wheelchair co-financing has so far been possible once every five years);
- "The rights to use out of order of healthcare services and pharmaceutical services provided in pharmacies";
- "The right to benefit from specialist services without the need to obtain a referral".
Parents for fear of not letting them in again, not wanting to leave the building until they reach their goals.
