10 Best Speeches By President John Fitzgerald Kennedy

in politics •  6 years ago

John Fitzgerald Kennedy was the 35th President of the United States of America during a very short term, serving, more specifically, from 1961 to 1963. He ran on behalf of the Democratic Party for the presidency of the U.S. back in the 1960 election against Richard Nixon who was supported by the Republican Party.

Kennedy won the respective election by a very slim margin while the popular vote is taken into account (only 0.17% difference between him and Nixon in this respect) but won the electoral vote by a larger margin (330 electoral votes compared to Nixon's 219).

Thus, at the age of 43, John Fitzgerald Kennedy became the second-youngest American president (after Theodor Roosevelt of the Republican Party) and the first U.S. President of Roman Catholic faith. His brief presidential term was marked by international tensions with the Communist states of Vietnam, Cuba, and the U.S.S.R.

Nonetheless, many of his charismatic speeches gained him respect and acknowledgement stemming from both his political allies and enemies, both in the United States and abroad. In this regard, I recommend watching the following video compilation of 10 of his best political speeches (starting with the famous inaugural address).
