I Received An Email From MoveOn.org, Regarding The Trump Resistance.

It seems to be clear the left will never accept Trump, and although I am not a big fan either, it seems destructive to fight your own President and around 30% of the population.  There is no question Trump is a wild card and like all Presidents he will fall short of the goals he set in his campaign.

Anyway, Soros and Hillary and the Left are raising money to keep protesting Trump's election.  I understand why some don't want to accept him, but I can't understand nearly a month later still sitting around being mad.

Below this line is a cut and paste of the email I received.

Dear MoveOn member,The year was 2005. America was stuck in a bloody war of choice in Iraq started under false pretenses. And George W. Bush had just been re-elected.So what did MoveOn do? We launched an audacious campaign to take back Congress. We demanded that Democrats stand up to Bush's Social Security privatization plan, and we kept demanding an end to the disastrous Iraq War.Two years later, Democrats took back the House and Senate—and in 2008, Barack Obama was elected president. When it comes to fighting back when the chips are down, few groups have had more experience—and success—than MoveOn. And together, we're going to do it again. Will you chip in $5 a month to help build and sustain the Trump resistance?Yes, I'll chip in to help build and sustain the Trump resistance. No, I'm sorry, I can't make a monthly donation.MoveOn members worked day and night for months to defeat George W. Bush for re-election.But not only did Bush win, Republicans gained four seats in the Senate and three in the House, expanding their control of Congress. The morning after we lost, it seemed as though things couldn't possibly get worse. Until Bush announced that his top priority would be privatizing Social Security. Some Democrats even seemed ready to fold. But MoveOn members mobilized one of the biggest campaigns in our history—with a clear message to Republicans and Democrats alike: Hands off Social Security! In the end, Bush's Social Security bill died without a single vote, setting the stage for Democrats to take back Congress in 2006.We learned a lot of lessons from that fight, and we're putting those lessons to work right now. But we can't rise to challenges of the scale that we now face without unprecedented support. So we're counting on you to ensure that we have the ability to stand up to Donald Trump and the GOP-controlled Congress on every important fight. Will you chip in $5 a month today?Yes, I'll chip in to help build and sustain the Trump resistance. No, I'm sorry, I can't make a monthly donation. Thanks for all you do.—Jo, Corinne, Mark, Milan, and the rest of the teamWant to support our work? The MoveOn community will work every moment, day by day and year by year, to resist Trump's agenda, contain the damage, defeat hate with love, and begin the process of swinging the nation's pendulum back toward sanity, decency, and the kind of future that we must never give up on. And to do it we need your ongoing support, now more than ever. Will you stand with us?Yes, I'll chip $5 a month. No, I'm sorry, I can't make a monthly donation.

Sort Order:

The Political Left is telling followers that conservatives are cruel, intolerant of other people (and lifestyles), arrogant, hateful and a slew of other supposed maladies. However, I have found conservatives to believe in personal freedom, rule of law and rights of the individual. By definition these things mean being tolerant and respectful of other people even when you do not agree. Liberals, on the other hand, want to enforce their own beliefs on others, by force if necessary (and or they want government to do so). Case in point, this on going argument about vaccines. Conservatives believe in personal choice and the right of the individual to not do something if that is their personal belief. Liberals want government to force people to do or accept something against their own free will.

It's very funny. All the things Liberals accuse Conservatives of really are attributes of the left (intolerance, spite, arrogance, mean spiritedness, condescension)

Straight out of Saul Alinsky's Rules For Radicals...Accuse your opponent of the same things you do! It's not by mistake, it's by design!

and coersion

Disgusts me.

Within the last 16 years and definitely the last 8 years, The Democrat party has moved so far left, in my mind, they are becoming quite dangerous. They need to be closely monitored and fought, tooth and nail. There's a growing faction who outright despise this country (but naturally willing to reap the rewards of it)
