This is Nigeria
Proud democrats
Celebrating a demo
That has gone crazy

For the people and their rights
Yet our Demos come to naught
More like, 'use the people'-
Damn their rights

This is Nigeria
Green. white. Green
Greed. Black. Greed- synonyms
Fill my belly
Let the nation hunger

This is Nigeria
Charcoals, miffed by the pot's dark colors
Robbers, chasing thieves
Dogs, barking at their owners
Galatians!

This is Nigeria
Today, we march and celebrate
Paint the towns with brilliant colors
Rejoice in a sham

Revolt behind our keypads
Protest vehemently on TV lines
And negotiate behind the scenes

This is Nigeria
Cast stones, more stones
One by one, we shall fall
Until no one is left
After all, WE are Nigeria
