Air pollution costs money and lives.......

Yearly, toxic emission into our atmosphere averages Millions of Tons when quantified. Are humans to be blamed for Civilization and advancement in technology? Who are the culprit behind this man-wrecked havoc? This answer is; we could blame humanity and we may not because this is our actions and we could have prevented it.

Air pollution is a gas(or a liquid or a solid dispersed through ordinary air) released in a big enough quantity to harm the health of people or other animals, kills plants or stop them from growing properly; damage or disrupt some other aspect of the environment(such as making buildings crumble, plane crash) or cause some kind of nuisance(reduced visibility and perhaps unpleasant odor).

Accessing the Risks of Air Pollution

This steps are crucial to preventing and or minimizing the amount of pollutant in the air, identifying and knowing the various health implications are very paramount. The different risks at different exposure level can be subjected to some heavy industrial areas which happens to be non habitable areas or remote areas not so close to densely populated areas.

Illustrating the health implications

The dangers are so severe, this polluted airs/smogs we breath in are harmful to our health, causing cancer and different heart related diseases. Many of this hazardous air pollutants which causes this serious health implications are also inside our homes, offices and compounds not just the atmosphere. Just few hours of being in a concentrated polluted air environments has ill effects on the rate of blood flow and heart pumps.

The following gases are identified as the common composition of air pollutants which makes it dangerous to humans and other bio-life:

• LEAD AND HEAVY METALS: Aerosols, incinerator smoke stacks are the major source of this categories of pollutants.

• CFC(Chlorofluorocarbons): Refrigerators and aerosol cans also produce this.

• SULFUR DIOXIDE: This are pollutants from petroleum products, coal fired power plants.

• NO2(Nitorgen Oxide): This is one of the major causes of Global Warming, Vehicle engines and power plants are the major contributing sources.

• CO(Carbon Oxide): Another dangerous gas forms from damaged stoves and gas boilers.

• CO2(Carbon dioxide): This are the air we breath out essentially to live, but Greenhouses emits it in larger quantities which causes climatic changes and resulting in Global warming.

• PARTICULATES: Mostly from traffic fumes in densely populated cities, they make buildings black and hinders good breathing.
