Looks like Poloniex is doing a comeback!

in polo •  7 years ago

Its been almost 4 months ago since I made an error when sending from a Poloniex wallet to another.

They initially replied really late and after giving them more details about the problem they told me after another late reply that they will look into it. This is the time where I and many others started hearing about their constant issues with customers and where a lot of currency pairs started getting disabled.

To be honest I had actually given up about this transaction, it wasn't all that much Steem (120) but knowing they are never going to reply to it I myself didn't even reply to their last email. That's why today I was very surprised to find out they had sent me an email telling me they had fixed my transaction and returned me my Steem.

Even though he kinda tells me to try again and Steem is still disabled on Poloniex he says "when ready" which I hope means once they have fixed their issues and have the Steem wallet up and running again. The reason I have a lot more hope now that this might happen soon is that they went out of their way to reply to this ticket even though I hadn't spammed them with replies about why its taking so long.

Has anyone else had their Poloniex tickets looked over lately?

They still haven't gotten to mine i'm at 63 days waiting for 78 steem. I will let you know if they ever get to it.

Editing errors in the first paragraph tells a lot about their professionalism.

Haha, the the ticket was resolved at least. ;p

True but at what cost?

Yeah, who cares about the spelling errors. They got the issue resolved. I'm just impressed that people still care about spelling errors when the response was 4 months late. That to me says more about the professionalism then someone who may have typed up a quick email in a hurry.

Hi @gniksivart, Obviously, the four month delay is the main issue here. I was just trying to be Grammar Nazi to take the things to whole new level. But it's true, I hate Poloniex for they are non-professionals. :D

To me it shows me that their team is small and this guy answered the email on his phone.

I had similar thoughts myself.

I mean that's nice that they finally responded, but Jesus, 4 months? I'd appreciate the sentiment and getting the funds released back and everything, but I'd rather still just stick with Bittrex or another company. I hope that this is the start of them getting their shit together though, and maybe the community can begin to trust in them again at some point in the future.

Maybe they realized that it's time to come back and come back stronger than ever

Hope so! Was mostly worried cause I know a lot of people had big amounts of tokens laying there not being able to withdraw them.

120 steem may not be a lot right now, but one day could be thousands, right? hehe

I hope this is a hint that Polo is getting it together! With the huge rush into the crypto space the exchange had some serious issue from scaling and fending off DDoS attacks. I wonder if they scripted reply? I would hope they clean up their grammatical errors in the paragraph, but more importantly I hope their issues are getting resolved!

Woow a good one from Poloniex for a change... thats great to hear

What bugs me the most in this situations is not the money but the inefficiency they usually deal our problems with. Even though we pay lots of money in fees, exchanges tend to be ungrateful and distant with their customers.... the downs from an unregulated market I guess.

Good luck with that man!

Peace!

If they don't get their stuff together I hope more and more users will realize the power of decentralized exchanges and start using them more!

Yup i agree and and hope so as well! I think that decentralized exchanges are the future!

After I heard all the news that Polo is a scam I took all my coins out of Polo and put it in my wallets and on Kraken and Bittrex I had no troubles by doing so (lucky). I read a couple of posts on different platforms where people said that they had a lot of trouble for e.g. there was one guy he waited 2 month for his 6000 Burst coins to be transfered in his Burst wallet it was written in his post that he didn't got it yet. I am happy for you that you got this email from Polo today and hope that you will have access to your coins soon.

Btw in Switzerland is a town who accepts tax payments in Bitcoins I wrote about it in my post today if you are interested check it out.

Have a great day!

Whoa! This is excellent news. I have a ticket relating to a similar issue from about 4 months ago, now I'm hoping that I'll hear from them soon.

In my opinion the months long Poloniex/STEEM issue has led to a suppression of the price of STEEM. All Poloniex users are terrified of having their coins locked up so STEEM has been missing out on large amounts of volume provided by Poloniex users. If this all gets worked out im predicting a nice upward movement in the price of STEEM.

But, im definitely not holding my breath on that

I will never use Poloniex, Bittrex is far more better and safe as compared to Poloniex.

Poloniex makes about a million dollar every day from transaction fees. And no money for decent support personnel. Wow guys.

hmmmmm
lets see how they react to inquiries in future :)

very good information, because some time I have not been lucky to use this poloniex, thanks for sharing

I first started out with Polo but 2 months ago sent everything to bittrex.
There are some things that I miss about polo, like the ethereum market but bittrex does seem to be the best bet overall at this time.
Polo's customer support is laughable though, even on this reply. Not to mention the fact that they didn't package it in any way.

so, its working again now..? great..! @acidyo

Yeah they seem to be resolving tickets now, but deposits and withdrawals still not.

we need a time to waiting for full resolved right..?

Congratulations... But You Should Give Away All That Steem haha

Its a great thing they are trying to fix some problems. :)

Mistakes like that are unacceptable. Imagine next month Steem shoots up in value and you loose 240 000 because of them. Now that will suck!

Thanks for sharing your story. :)

Lol great to see polo being so supportive nowadays....but i think its little late cause most of the traders have shifted to trex....

Who is responsible for fixing the wallet? Is poloniex side not working or steemit? Does steemit have developers to get this fixed?

@acidyo, once again you shared much informative topic about poloniex, much effective now after removing errors. wonderful job by you..

Better late than never, I guess;)

Yes, although the tech support there is unhurried, but it still works :)

@acidyo - Many people seem to have lost faith in Poloniex exchange. I have been trying to convert some bitcoin to Steem but the first transaction never went through and then they have disabled Steem. No one looked over my transaction but it is a small amount (just sent as trial) and I did not bother following up.

It is good to hear they are making a comeback. I believe that the more exchanges make it possible to exchange Steem, the more acceptable and valuable Steem will become.

Thanks for this blog with the news. Will keep a watch on Poloniex Steem status. Upvoted full.

Good post... Thanks for sharing, i have some coin at poloniex....

Lol they remembered!

The way people gave negative review about poloniex, I transferred all my coins from it.

5 months ticket getting a reply definelty a comeback ! also coolest gif ever

Thanks for great information friend,I think the old will become gold again. Thanks for sharing, wish you good luck good health and happiness friend happy steeming.

Nice post @acidyo

I have to ask them for so many return. They dont even reply to mail my any more.

That's good to hear as I trade on Poloniex too

When i became active on Steemit in mid July,i read many posts discouraging us from using Steemit.

Since you have been replied and even given back your 120 Steem, then it was may be just some minor issues witheir system.

All computer systems get clogged and jammed at times.

You said 120 Steem is not much here!

To be honest I had actually given up about this transaction, it wasn't all that much Steem (120)

Any amount of Steem will be gold soon in the near future.
Now for me i do not even have 50 Steem lol.

Really they do give replies that like a magic i didn't even got a single reply from them

@acidyo you a lucky and great guy... I think poloniex are beginning to understand that on the long run it's not wise to mess with steemians especially our big guys...tks for sharing this...worthy of my upvote

4 months for a reply! They are getting better than Coinbase.

Maybe they'll find time ... traffic has been halved for weeks..

I have always liked and used poloniex. Good stuff.

a very good post. thank you for sharing your story, success always friends!

I followed you due to mew pouring acid on social media 😅

Unprofessionalism and bad english aside, they actually remembered and went back to your issue after months of silence! That's quite impressive. Hope you're not the only one they did that for :)

I've had a significant amount of steem on Poloniex since July 10th and they have never given it to me. I have emailed them about 4 times and gotten several responses as well. Every time they say to reverify my account and then they will let me have the steem. I've done this several times but they never actually give it to me. It's been more than two months since I've waited to put it into my steem account. I cannot wait to recover that money.

Poloniex wallet is good and has not heard of its name. This wallet has just arrived. what

I haven't used them for some time now. I'm looking for alternatives away from US territory.

now we are waiting them to open deposits and withdrawal with steem:)

Poloniex . 3 days to a support .. are useless with the amount of money generated daily, to have a good amount of support assistants

Had multiple problems with them all the time. Removed my assets from there. Concerning their reply to you: nice you've got your funds back but "that that" does not inspire much confidence for the future either.

Let's see if the people who are now on bittrex switch back. But I hope you get your money back!

Glad to see that they are improving, to me 120 steem is a lot and in the future it might be significantly more.

at least you got your 120 steem back and as for them if they fix the errors they will get transactions from steem users easily as they worked pretty well at first i guess
still let's give it time and see

Finally they woke up...after 4 months! I've heard many people having such issues with poloniex.

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

Nice, but still...4 months? This should have been sorted a lot faster. At least they did take some steps towards fixing that, also that you had who to contact in the first place. I didn't have to use Poloniex yet and from what I read, I can't say that I'm tempted to start now either. That being said, I did use EtherDelta, where if something went wrong, there would be nobody to contact, as far as I can figure. But I just had to use it and, lucky, it worked out.

Definitely a good sign. Always nice to see them at least attempt to do right.

I had similar experiences with Coinbase and Gemini. They responded, albeit 2 months late, to issues I had that already compelled me to move on to other exchanges. I would consider them in the future maybe, due to that, if my other options evaporated.

Wow! Better late than never! Maybe they finally hired some people to address customer support issues.

It's very long poloniex having problems until many pending steem, my friend also still can not take the steem on poloniex.
Thanks @acidyo ver this important information
