Poloniex having issues again, but that's none of my business...

in poloniex •  7 years ago  (edited)

Because I use Bittrex!

Actually I just got lucky that I just happened to created an account over there as opposed to Poloniex when I first got started in the cryptocurrency space.

I am sorry for everyone out there currently having problems with it, I am sure that it is beyond frustrating. Hopefully they can figure out whatever issues they are having and move forward.

I am just praying that Bittrex doesn't soon follow suit!

I have heard good things about BlockTrades.

Perhaps I will have to look into using BlockTrades ( @blocktrades ) if I need to create a backup account if something should happen with Bittrex.

I haven't heard nearly the number of complaints with them as I have with other external exchanges.

It is pretty clear that the infrastructure is not quite there currently for cryptocurrencies. Hopefully with all the new eyes on the space we can actually get some properly running exchanges.

Are there any other exchanges that people highly recommend using?

I am in the United States by the way.

I've hear of this website in fact I'm log in to it, but have never use it before.. I might have to look for another website what do you guys recomend ?

That is what I am wondering myself.

I used Poloniex... once.
Unless you are trading, I would advise getting as many coins off exchanges as possible to avoid these issues.
Its pretty annoying to have a separate wallet for every token, but between jaxx (phone and chrome plugin) and exodus (desktop) you can store quite a few of the more popular tokens

www.exodus.io

That sounds like good advice. Thanks for the heads up about the wallets. When one of these exchanges really gets it right they are going to take all the business.

true, a great exchange (especially if you could buy with low credit card fees from overseas) could really take control of the market. but I haven't had any problems with bittrex, so wouldn't change. It will never be safe to leave coins on an exchange. there will always be a danger of hacks.

It might not be your business directly if Polinex is having problems and it is a good choice of being on Bittrex, I also do use Bittrex. But remember that crypto users/investors are a community and so far a very small one (compare to what it will be in 10 years), and it is not good in general if one exchange goes down, since it gives bad publicity to the whole community.
