Another position on the historical map of Poland, the ruins of the bishop's castle from Siewierz.

A small town in the Silesian province, with a rich history dating back to the 12th century, when Siewierz was a trading settlement. You could write a few separate articles about the city's history, but this time we will focus on the castle.
**PL** Siewierz to niewielkie miasto na południu woj. Śląskiego, jego historia sięga aż do XII w., Kiedy Siewierz był osadą handlową. Jednak nie będziemy dzisiaj pisać o Siewierzu, a skupimy się na samym zamku.

Archeological excavations have not yet set the exact age of the castle, probably its beginnings dating back to the 14th century.
The first owners of the castle were princes from Bytom, then princes from Cieszyn,finnaly in 1443 the castle was bought from the princes by the Bishop of Cracow.
**PL** Nie została ustalona dokładna data powstania zamku, lecz przypuszcza się, że była to druga połowa XIVw. Początkowo zamek należał do Książąt Bytomskich, następnie władali nim książęta Cieszyńscy, którzy byli zmuszeni zamek sprzedać - jego właścicielem stał się Biskup Krakowski, był to rok 1443.

For many consecutive years, the castle was ruled by other bishops, who built additional wings and other parts of the castle. Its glory years end in 1790, when it was decided to join the Duchy of Siewierz to the Polish lands, and the castle was abandoned.
**PL** Przez kolejne lata, zamek pozostawał we władaniu kolejnych biskupów, był rozbudowywany i dodawano kolejne skrzydła. Lata jego świetności mają swój koniec w roku 1790, kiedy Sejm Wielki wciela Księstwo Siewierskie do ziem Polski.

Tak, dookoła zamku jest sztuczna fosa :) mówisz o ostatniej fotce ? Nie zwróciłem uwagi, że jest odwrócone, dziwnie uploadowalo, zdjęcie mam normalnie zrobione...
