It is important to highlight that throughout these months there have been positive circumstances that have allowed us to grow in the family, emotional and professional aspects.

Regarding professional growth, these months of pandemic have provided us with time and ideal conditions, I am referring to the fact of learning something new making use of internet connectivity, in particular, I am currently taking English classes online, the experience has been wonderful and academically very enriching, I say this because it is the first time that I feel that I am really learning the essential fundamentals of the English language.

What changed in me, that now and for the first time I started to understand English?

The answer is that I took a course with an extraordinary English teacher (Felix), and I have no doubt that his methodology to develop the classes was the key to my progress, a situation that has encouraged me to dedicate more hours of study to facilitate the learning process, because now I want to take advantage of the opportunity and the context to master this language.

In recent weeks, I have been spending time looking for study material and some strategies to help me in this learning process, in this regard today I found an article by Alex Rawlings recognized polyglot who speaks 15 languages, in the publication sets out his 6 tips for learning a new language.

Tips for learning a new language

1. Don't get discouraged before you start, in this aspect Rawlings recommends to clear the negative from the path, and emphasizes that age is not a barrier to learn vocabulary in another language at a really high level.

2. You can learn to learn, according to Rawlings learning a language is the result of curiosity and effort.

3. Where to start?, in this aspect I suggest that learning new words is stimulating for the training of tongue and ears, when I read this recommendation.

4. Surround yourself with the language, the famous polyglot proposes as an optional method of learning, to go to alternative readings outside of formal classes, watch movies of the language you want to learn, in order to relate to tones of voice, facial expressions and body language that accompany certain phrases.

5. Practice little and often, the expert states that it is more likely to achieve significant progress by devoting only one hour a day.

6. The more, the better, in this last indication specifies that speaking more than one language has benefits that go beyond the joy of being able to communicate with more people, such as increasing our cognitive functions, and delay the onset of dementia, if you want to expand on this last recommendation.

In addition to these important recommendations, I consider that there are two key rules, I am referring to the commitment and constancy that we have when we are learning a language, because this way the process will be more effective.
