Trendon Shavers was sentenced in three years of supervised release, a $100 special assessment, $1.2m in forfeiture and $1.2m in restitution. Shavers, who was charged with one count of securities fraud and one count of wire fraud, faced up to 40 years in prison.
Wow, that's crazy. He stole 800k worth of Bitcoin and that's worth 90 mil now. He said he doesn't think he'll ever get over it. I don't think he's talking about ripping off the investors, though. I think he's talking about stealing Bitcoin in the first place. As an early adopter he had a good opportunity to make a hell of a lot of money.
