Can you imagine, the endless series of taught that goes through our mind everyday?. As a collection of the different event that happens around us is being made, we are like the viewers, we sit back and watch it sometimes, the pictures are beautiful and bright, other times it could be scary and sadly painted. The most seen pictures turn out to dominate our mind and this influences our every day life gradually. I clearly understood all of these after Mrs Chika Ebireri testified of her son's enormous change towards life. Ifeanyi has been a burden in his mom's heart as he choose a style of life that the mother knew would detriment his future. Ifeanyi had taken into smoking, drinking, fighting, after he was admitted into the university as he was greatly influenced by his peer group the mother will cry in the night as she prays to her God to save her son from his ignorance. This was very unusual as Ifeanyi before his campus life began, was not just the music director at his church but he was also regarded as a role model because of his way of life. so many parents will want their child to be like him and He did make his father and mother proud.
Things got worse and it seemed that God had decided not to answer his mother's prayer when after Ifeanyi spent four years in the University, he was expelled for his involvement in a cult fight. He has gained a dreadful reputation and every one in campus who came on his path, he would pick up a fight and after being expelled, Ifeanyi no longer showed interest in his pursuit for education. He does not even feel the need to earn for himself a living because his parents were wealthy and whatever he so desires, he can easily get from them. Back at home the father already has given up in him as he always wanted his only child to take after his step to become a law practitioner but this wasn't the fate of his Mom who always had a good vision of her son. While the father would rain fire and brimstone on his son, the mother would cheerfully say to him sweet words of what she had thought he would become. Every morning the mother made it an habit of having a talk with Ifeanyi telling him he had a bright future and he shouldn't give up in himself. Ifeanyi always felt reluctant to listen to her but deep in his heart he knew the mother was right. He knew he had to make a change in ways.
Everybody deserves a second chance and soon Ifeanyi was given one. The mom had decided to send him abroad to pursue his career despite his poor interest in it. He got admitted into the university of Leeds and soon left Nigeria for the UK. But his life hasn't really change because he had never thought good about himself. He never saw the reason for why he was living. Meeting with old friends over there he continued with his way of life that the Mom had warned him about. And the law caught up with him when he got involved in drug trafficking, he was arrested and was dealt with. It was right there in the prison that he met a preacher who talked to him about what were his plans for his life.
Ifeanyi realized he had no plans for life as he had lived life with the belief that you'll enjoy life today and tomorrow will take care of itself, he actually had no picture of a future. He had this thought in him because he was brainwashed by his friends whom he met at school. Ifeanyi knew he was gifted with music and when he leads the worship, the worshippers were greatly moved by power. His music talents really does touches life.
The preacher left him but not without some books that he could read that will help him feed his mind with positive thoughts and over some time the preacher would return again and they both had a spiritual bond. Ifeanyi soon realised all these while he had been living in the dark, his mindset and belief was changed after he studied the books given to him.
While he was at the prison, he spent less time with the people that fed him with negative thoughts and more of his time he spent writing songs. He soon influenced the life of prisoners around him with his songs and while at the prison, he formed a music crew. A vast population of the prisoners experienced changes in their life after they had an encounter with Ifeanyi, as his songs fed their minds with positive thoughts. He turned around and gained a good reputation, and soon he did his time at prison and when it was all over, he had become a totally new man. He had written many songs and on gaining freedom he pursued his music career.
Years past and Ifeanyi happily got for himself a wife and a beautiful daughter. He was not just alive but living a happy life.
What a life Ifeanyi had lived, all he wanted was to cut off himself from the people that were feeding him with negative thought and then he can begin to build for himself a positive image of life that will one day come into reality. In one way or another, we could picture ourself to be Ifeanyi and when we do we should pick out the areas of our life that has been influenced by out taughts and we will realise that 90% of what we are today is a product of what we've been thinking about for quite some time now. Our thoughts are greatly influenced by our circumstances and also the people around us. But we should try to desist from negative thought and live life with positive thinking. In the case of Ifeanyi he was influenced by the people in his life and this affected him greatly, the only way he could get back his true self was to cut off the negative taughts by staying away from the people that fed him with it.
He always talks about his experience and tells people never to give up in life for as long as you can feed yourself with positive words, you can live with positive thought and also get to have a positive life as we are what we think we are.
