Success Is A Journey: We Need To Do Today, What We Want To Achieve Tomorrow

Sometimes we come across a singer who is discovered and she is being described by the newspapers as “sensational” or “overnight success”. But is her successes really overnight? Did she really achieve success in one night? If you take the time to research her story, you will find out that this is not the case. She would have spent a lot of her time honing her singing skills. As an aspiring singer, she would have to attend a lot of auditions and faced numerous rejections. Her challenges and obstacles in her struggling years may not been common knowledge. In fact she had been working towards her success since day 1.

Success is therefore a journey not a destination. The day that society declared the singer a success, is the day that society finally acknowledged her exceptional singing skills; skills that took years in the making. As human beings, we would like to be successful in our lives in one way or another. We may want to have a successful business, successful career, to be rich or to be famous. However success will not just fall on our lap. We need to work towards our success, and the time to take action is now, today.

Therefore we need to understand that success is a journey not a destination that we magically arrive at one day. And that journey to success is the path that we need to take each day. This translates into taking action each day what we need to do so that we can be successful. To make this journey easier, we should break down our goals into doable small actions that we can implement on a daily basis. At each section of our journey to success there has to be milestones which we need to achieve. Persistence, hard work as well as overcoming any challenges and obstacles will lead us on our journey to success. Therefore be prepared to do today what we want to achieve tomorrow.

Are people just lucky or do they have to work for their success? Do share your opinion and experiences in the comments section. I love you all. Bye.

Thank you.

I totally agree with you @positivesteem ! As they say : "Rome wasn't built in a day " it takes a lot of Work , like anything else that's worth having ! Plus patience and Persistence , my favorite motto ! LOL! you need to put in the work first , then luck may play a factor later on , but its a small percentage for most as to how you become successful ! Thanks for entering this post in my @popcontest ! And congrats again on last weeks second place win ! Good luck , upped and resteemed !💕👍✌😊

This is actually a very simple concept but some people especially the younger generation do not get it. You really need to work for your success.

I'm in complete agreement with you.
Too many people see only the success that others have achieved. They refuse to see or acknowledge the amount of strife and toil that has finally allowed that person to be successful.
After all fruits from a tree are easily harvested. The years spent planting and nurturing the tree are never noticed.

Very well said. We can only see people's success but we are not aware of the hardship that they have to go thorough to achieve this success.

Thanks for bring up this point, that success if a journey. Too many times for the younger generation, they see the lifestyle and glamour of their idols, but they did not see the suffering and sacrifices they had to go through to reach where they are.

They misled themselves, trying to "become" their idols, by doing the things they do, owning the things they bought. Sadly, if any emulation is to be done, I think the attitude of those idols, especially during their younger, striving days. That's what supposed to be copied and acted upon.

Sometimes I'm being told that they deliberately choose not to see the journey, hoping for a quick fix. Hope, sadly, don't always work that way.

That is very true especially for the younger generation. Not sure whether this is partially due the parenting style. I will do some research and this could be my next topic.

Someone asked this before in an event I attended, directed to the entrepreneur that was speaking:

"It's because of entrepreneurs who always show off their amazing lifestyle that is giving the wrong perception to the younger generation."

Over time, personally, I posted less too, because I am conscious of the message I'm projecting, intentionally and unintentionally.

And don't even get me started on the humblebraggers.

It is never overnight. I can attest it can sometimes feel like a sudden thing after you have been working so hard day after day, year after year, then suddenly catch your big break seemingly out of nowhere, but you are correct- it is a journey <3

A journey that requires hard work and persistence.
