Recently I stumbled upon quite a thought-provoking poem, it meant something to me anyway. Two years ago I became a mother through adoption, the day I met my son for the first time is set in my mind like stone, never to be forgotten. This is why these beautiful words hit home, it's like my heart had words.
My son has two mothers. The one that gave birth to him, and the one who will share his life with him. Many have asked me if I resent the fact that I have to share my child with another woman. My answer is no. How can I resent someone who gave me the most amazing gift in the world, how can I resent someone who cared so much for my child that she decided he would be safest in the arms of another family?
Please enjoy this poem, I hope you can appreciate the magnificence of it.
Once there were two people, who never knew each other.
One you do not remember, the other you call mother.
Two different lives shaped to make yours one.
One became your guiding star, the other became your sun.
The first gave you life, and the second taught you to live it.
The first gave you the need for love, and the second was there to give it.
One gave you nationality, the other gave you a name.
One gave you the seed of talent, the other gave you aim.
One gave you emotion, the other calmed your fears.
One saw your first sweet smile, the other dried your tears.
One gave you up, it was all that she could do.
The other prayed for a child, and God led her straight to you.
And now you ask me through your tears, the age-old question through the years. - Which are you a product of?
Neither my darling, neither - Just two different kinds of love.

This is such a simple poem but it emphasis exactly how I feel. The world of adoption is complex with emotions felt by all involved, some emotions are felt as sad others are of pure joy. But I do hope that all adopted children know that from the very start, no before the start, they were loved and so undoubtedly wanted!
Nice post keep posting
Happy new year

In my country (Russia) unfortunately there is no such practice to give the baby up for adoption. Although I think that this could solve many problems: orphans, orphanages, abortion, the killing of babies. All this is very sad. In my society, the mother that wants to give the child to another family that can give him the best conditions, a mother becomes an outcast in society. Although in my opinion adoption is the best way for the thousands of mothers and children in my country.

There are so many people wanting to become parents, this would definitely be a solution. Let's hope that in time this will become a more acceptable practice around the world so that more children will have families and abortions will be fewer.

It must be a huge heartbreaking decision for any young mother to realize she is unable to bring up her child. No one know the circumstance better than she does.
Adoption is always a wonderful way to give the child the opportunity of a possibly better life.
Lovely poem expressing your inner most feelings @sweetpea
