How can you win @heartwants? The entry must be a photograph, taken by yourself.
You notice it says "@photocontest", that means entering with original work, a photograph that is owned, and was taken and made, by you. Really should read the rules.

"We are legion" by @sircryptonite. I like this shot a lot. My first thoughs when enlarging on the screen is, that I don't really like the ring flash highlights in the eyes, that's purely subjective of course, I know it is an intentional and widely accepted ptractice.

Also you could expect to feel a bit disappointed the tattoo was not included within the depth of field, and thus being out of focus.

Despite these critique points, this a superb and very powerful portrait, and I still rate this photograph as my favourite of a good bunch here.

Even though there are photographs included in the selection that I would have nothing disturbing me to the point of constructive critique, this photograph for me with these 'imperfections', for want of a better word, speaks volumes. It speaks determination, loyalty and strength.

The fact that the tattoo is not in focus actually turns out to be a plus here and is best to ignore any critiquing thoughts, as it's clear enough for us to recognise the anarchistic symblolism, with the benefit of not having the kind of fine detail that would certainly become a distraction from the face.

Also, although I don't much personally care for ringflash highlights in the eyes of portraits, on this occasion it helps make those eyes to become more piercing. Sometimes when looking into the eyes of a good portrait, you feel like they're the portals to the sitter's soul, where as here, it's reversed, and the piercing eyes are looking deep into the viewer's soul and are searching us for answers to questions relating to our moral status quo.

Really great pictures the winners have. Great job @juliank you have been awesome this year. Participating in the photo contests has really kept me engaged on steemit not to mention the fact that I also get rewarded for sharing my photos that may have just been lying in my gallery without getting out to the world for people to see and appreciate them.
