I've been a long time without publishing, so I come to redeem myself today ...
... and at the expense of a theme that has been very dear to me: "homemade" agriculture as an habit of a more sustainable life.
I started this project around 2017, when my mother decided to offer me, very impetuously let's say, a box of sphinkovite with six lettuces planted there ...
I was only a bit interested in sprinkling the little plants, that didn't show any sign of growing up, from time to time.
Until the miracle of life manifests itself and the small lettuce transform! With beautiful and tasty leaves that I was tasting as I needed ...
In fact, it seems that the trick of planting lettuce at home is to consume the leaves without removing all of them and always starting with the older, more "mature" leaves, ensuring that the plant continues to grow without, and maintaining the availability of leaves for our consumption, fresh without needing to go to the fridge.
Given the impressive result of that experience for me, I decided to go a little further and test what could be done with "more land".
I then expanded my agricultural county to eight more pots of various sizes.
I concentrated my sporadic, but curious, efforts on the aromatic herbs: rosemary, mangericão, chives, parsley, and thyme.
I did not have the same luck with everyone:
- Rosemary survives, in a larger pot, just for him ...
- The chives dried completely during the summer ...
- The parsley gave flower and dried ...
- The mangericão as that wilted or rotted, acquiring a brownish color in the stem ... and ...
- I was devastated to look at the herald of the misfortune in which my aromatic ones became ...
With the larger plants, I was lucky:
- The tomatoes grew and gave some fruit;
- The radishes were also consumed but turned out to be very small;
- And the very dear lettuces that remain fresh ...
However, me moving to a new home forced me to rethink this idea of practicing agriculture at home.
The challenge? I share a T1 with two marquees.
This is one of the topics that I intend to continue to publish weekly. About my adventures trying to carry out this venture!
Hope you like it ;)
