Praia do Amado - Aljezur - Algarve

Praia do Amado is located near the village of Carrapateira. It presents an extensive sand bounded to the south and to the north by high cliffs that enter by the sea.

At the northern limit of this beach comes the Pontal da Carrapateira, a rocky platform of high environmental value, presenting priority habitats for nature conservation at European level.

Besides the scenic quality, Praia do Amado is very rich from the geological point of view.

Considered one of the best Portuguese beaches for surfing, it is one of the main spots in Europe for this sport.
