The Power of Speaking Positively

The words you speak hold immense power. Power to fuel your confidence and ambition and power to make you feel anxious and inadequate. Power to make a strong first impression and power to be quickly forgotten. Power to create opportunities and power to shut them down.

Certain unfavorable situation(s) may come our way, the way we react to such situations will determine the outcome. Though, it may look difficult and impossible, our ability to speak positively, reassuring ourselves and our minds that we can overcome will propel our minds to work towards that belief and ultimately help us overcoming that situation.

It is not enough to think positively, but also speaking positively to our lives, our environment, carrier, new opportunities will steer our minds toward working in the right direction to achieving our goals.

Have you ever heard yourself saying:

“This situation (or person) is just impossible.”
“I’m a total failure at…” or “I’m hopeless at…”
“I’ll never be able to figure this out.”
“I’ll try, but…”
“It’s just such a nightmare.”

If you answered “yes” to any of those, then it’s likely you’ve unconsciously been sabotaging your success simply by how you speak.

The saying, “The words you speak become the house you live in,” holds great truth. The world mirrors yourself back to you. If you speak positively about yourself and your ability to meet challenges and achieve your goals, then that is what your life will reflect.

Likewise, if you continually make declarations about yourself or your circumstances that echo hopelessness, incite fear, nurture anxiety and breed pessimism, then those words will shape your reality, too. And not in good ways!

Our words can help build, shape or mould our life and that of those we interact with on daily basis for the better but if used wrongly, it can burn down bridges, destroy hopes and dreams and ultimately lead to an unfulfilled life.
