This was the shattered and crumbled Haiti after being hit by a 7-magnitude earthquake in 2010. Hundreds of thousands of people perished or dislocated; millions of houses and critical infrastructure were destroyed. The scenes of panics, agony, and despair were omnipresent.

This is Haiti in 2018. Obviously it is still a poor country, but life has come back with its full vibe, energy, and hope. Houses have been rebuilt, and people are rebuilding their lives with dreams for a better future.

Stories like these not only happen in Haiti. They happen everywhere in the world, from the poorest place to the richest country, from the mild adversity to the most catastrophic disaster. People will always rise back up. People are resilient. They might be beaten up, and thrown in a hopeless situation for a while, but they will always stand up and fight for a better life. Even in the direst circumstances, you can see hope.
