“It is during our darkest moments that we must focus to see the light.”
- Aristotle Onassis
I’ll start off by being honest and keeping it real with you guys…I know stupendously little about the guy in the picture above. But I saw this quote and it stuck with me for the entirety of my day.
This is something that a lot of people I know cannot do. It’s something that I still struggle to do.
Negativity is one of the biggest killer of dreams and hopes. I fondly remember being told to give up wanting to become a wrestler during my time in secondary school. I also fondly remember being called “a waste of resources” too.
You’re probably thinking: “Cupid, why do you fondly remember this?”
Well Steemers it’s quite simple.
I found the light in their ignorance.
I turned their negative energy into fuel and used it to ignite my passion.
Since the start of 2016 I’ve been on fire! The flame has dipped but I have never been doused. Why? Because I know that through the hard times there is a lesson to be learned.
I injured my knee (torn meniscus) early last year and the first thing I did was become miserable.
I harked on and on about how I miss being in a ring.
Then it hit me like a hurricane! I had the opportunity to heal and the opportunity to give my time to writing.
Now I’m here on Steemit having the time of my life.
Now I have an awesome hobby which I am truly grateful for.
I found the light through the darkness.
And I hope you guys can too (:
Much love!

And as each day passes the darkness gets darker and the walls grow higher, chance of escape dwindles.
