According to the Director of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the North Sumatra Regional Police, Kombes Pol Sumaryono, investigators have secured several pieces of evidence related to the assault committed by the son of AKBP Achiruddin Hasibuan. The evidence was obtained after a search of Achiruddin Hasibuan's luxurious home. One of the pieces of evidence was a CCTV camera, but it was no longer functioning.
"We searched for CCTV cameras in the vicinity of AKBP AH's house. We searched for the CCTV camera in AKBP AH's house, and we only found the CCTV recorder. The owner of the house stated that the recorder had been out of order for a long time. However, we will conduct a forensic laboratory test on it," he explained.
In addition, a long-barreled weapon was mentioned by a witness as having been used by AKBP Achiruddin Hasibuan during the assault. However, the investigators did not find the weapon during the search.
"So some of the pieces of evidence that were secured were based on the witness statement that there was a long-barreled weapon. However, we only found a package of airsoft guns, which had a label on it. We will investigate further into the owner of the airsoft guns and the package," he said.
When asked if the search was also conducted to investigate Achiruddin's possession of unexplained wealth, Sumaryono admitted that the investigation was still focused on the assault case.
"The joint investigators are focusing on the ongoing criminal investigation, namely Article 351 and indications of Article 170 of the Criminal Code," he clarified.
Previously, Aditya Hasibuan, the son of Achiruddin Hasibuan, assaulted a college student named Ken Admiral over a chat with a woman. Aditya Hasibuan initially stopped Ken Admiral's car at a gas station on Ring Road Medan on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, around 10:00 pm. There, the victim was beaten and his car was damaged.
Then, Ken Admiral and his friend came to Aditya Hasibuan's house on Thursday, December 22, 2022, at around 02:30 am. There, the victim was again brutally assaulted. His head was slammed against the pavement, and he was repeatedly kicked.
The assault took place at the gate of Achiruddin's house on Jalan Guru Sinumba, Helvetia Timur Village, Medan Helvetia District, Medan City. When the assault occurred, Achiruddin was present at the location, but he watched the fight and prohibited the victim's friend from intervening. He even encouraged his son not to get emotional while hitting the victim.
After the assault, the victim reported Aditya Hasibuan to the Medan City Police Headquarters. Aditya Hasibuan also reported the victim to the police. However, the case was only pursued after the violent video went viral on social media.
Later, the investigators of the North Sumatra Regional Police's Criminal Investigation Unit declared Aditya Hasibuan a suspect and detained him. The assault also affected his father's career, who was serving in the North Sumatra Regional Police's Narcotics Directorate. Achiruddin Hasibuan was removed from his position as the Head of Bin Ops of the Narcotics Directorate of the North Sumatra Regional Police. He was found to have violated the Polri's code of ethics by allowing his son to commit a criminal act. Moreover, Achiruddin was also detained in a special facility (patsus).
