The Last Round Pound 2016 United Kingdom Silver Piedfort PF70 Ultra Cameo

in pound •  7 years ago

In 2014 the Chancellor of the Exchequer reported plans for another Multi Sided edge £1 coin. The new coin will highlight best in class security components to battle forgers, an appreciated advancement yet one that implies we will resign a notorious coin – the 'round pound'. Presented in 1983, the £1 coin has turned into a backbone of the United Kingdom's coinage, speaking to the home countries with an assortment of enthusiastic plans.

As the 'round pound' clears a path for its successor, The Royal Mint has discharged one final dedicatory release of the famous coin. The switch includes a unique outline by Gregory Cameron, roused by the fantastical brutes of British heraldry, and has been hit as a Piedfort with double the weight and thickness of 925 sterling silver as a standard £1 silver coin. Completed to Proof standard the coin is exhibited in a cleaned dark case, and is joined by a booklet that uncovers more on the historical backdrop of the coin and the motivation behind the contemporary last plan.

My pleasure

I am curious, what is the security agents in the coin to ward off forgers? I have seen it in the debt based notes.

Been copied already so does not help

This is a nice coin man, I've seen a lot of great stuff from the Royal Mint following you. Thx.

Stick to certain coins from Royal Mint all will be fine

I have a question, are there any coins that are better kept in their original RM presentation, even compared to having them in a PF70 slab? There are probably collectors who want the display boxes with COA rather than a stack of slabs?

It might be nice if the RM came up with a re-display case for slabbed versions of their coins. But there's numerous grading company sizes.

Hi Shalinoth as I bonus for you following me I am rewarding you with 5 silver coins, I will put up a video later to tell you what silver coins I am sending you, please send me your address to [email protected] thanks and well done.

Thank you so so much for doing these gifts to your followers and community members! I've sent you the address I hope you got it okay.

I found a nice article (which I hope is accurate) to get more knowledgeable on grading do's and don't's.

(Weird.. the word don't's looks bizarre but apparently spell-checker says it's okay.)

I would say the 2017 Sovereign and £5 Sovereign, the 2017 Piedfort Sovereign and most of the coronation sets, but get capsules on them to protect them fully.

If you are looking to sell them on then Grade them, if you want them as originals keep them in there cases but you must keep the COA Safe.

When you're selling on a graded slabbed Sovereign, do people still need the display cases? I assume the COA is a definite requirement for selling a slabbed Sov.

very, very! nice :)

Really like this coin as well. I recently sold my PF70 silver proof by NGC and currently saving up for your PF70 gold proof @britcoin
