Poverty and Wealth Creation.

Poverty is the default position of humanity. (Just ask a child.) The only thing which solves poverty is wealth creation. Wealth redistribution only divides and reduces the wealth of nations. After all the failed wealth redistribution schemes which have only created more poverty (if you subsidize poverty or failure, you'll get more of both), as Thomas Sowell has said, the way progs fret and whine about poverty, you'd think they'd be more concerned with wealth creation, but you'd be wrong.

They are not genuinely interested in lifting people out of poverty or else they'd show some capacity for reflection, introspection and critical analysis after we've spent 50 years and 30 trillion dollars on a welfare state which has only ensnared a dependent underclass into a life of poverty, crime, and hopelessness when the road out of poverty is so very wide open and clear. The despicable reality is; the poor are merely a subsidized and shackled-but reliable voter bloc for the people who use them to amass power and wealth for themselves. This is the primary lesson of government welfare programs specifically and all socialist schemes generally.

"We should not approach the problem of poverty without some idea of why the poor are poor, or how they might cease to be poor. If we misunderstand the causes of poverty and fail to understand what causes wealth, we will make everyone poor in the noble name of helping the poor, and in the modern world, probably the greatest producers of poverty are government plans to alleviate it." ~Father Schall

"In the only cases in which the masses have escaped from the kind of grinding poverty you’re talking about, the only cases in recorded history, are where they have had capitalism and largely free trade. If you want to know where the masses are worse off, worst off, it’s exactly in the kinds of societies that depart from that. So that the record of history is absolutely crystal clear, that there is no alternative way so far discovered of improving the lot of the ordinary people that can hold a candle to the productive activities that are unleashed by the free-enterprise system.” --Milton Friedman
