I am going to compare the "dead fish" as the 'new accounts' can just be same old people creating even more sock puppets. The data I am interested in pertains comparing the volume of dead accounts. All data is thanks to Arcange.

Here is the new Data based on numbers of dead accounts:

So regardless of 'class' this totals 1,116,155 DEAD ACCOUNTS!

Ok so let us put the numbers side by side for the over all total of dead accounts:

Dead accts. then 1,165,072/ Dead accts. now 1,116,155

But have people logged in of late and brought life back to their acct? Let us find out!

ok so you might be saying.. what is the problem.. there is an increase in activity! People are signing in and the accounts have become active in this last short while. This must be a good thing. Signs of life!! Well.. yes there are signs of life.. but no this is not a good thing. It is in fact the very opposite.

What is happening here is people who were dormant and felt safe and secure leaving their finances tied up in Steem were not active on chain, but had trusted Stinc as a place they wanted to store their money. In hopes it would grow in the future. However in recent times due to a loss of trust in Steem people are signing in to power down. This is why we see activity/life in those accounts that were formerly dormant/dead. They are coming back to powerdown. That is it, and that is all.

Keep in mind many of the people who are the big dogs of Steem and or the preminers have.. forget about dozens.. they have HUNDREDS of accounts. One such user has accounts at last count which soar well over 1000. If just 48 of the top dogs on Steem each have 1000 sock puppets that would also = the new activity by which you see this sudden account awakening. Now I am not saying all 48,000 are Steem top dogs. But sure some are. And then for the rest they are just regular people like you and I, who at one time had faith in the project, however since that time all faith has been lost.

If you have not powered down I am not sure what you are waiting for. Steemit is doing it. To the tune of well over 326,184.890 STEEM per week. 60% of the witnesses are doing it!
