32% of the Top 100 Steem Power accounts are powering.

From the Research point this task has to be done daily so we are able to make conclusions, my thoughts on this is that if you analyze the top 100 Steem Power Accounts, you get a idea of how the price might drop or raise in the future.

My thesis:

The higher the powerdown rate, the more money gets removed from steemit, so the actually worth of Steemit should go down. If we see the powerdown rate going down, then we should also see the price going up

To be able to messure the expected correlation

We also need the daily price of Steemit and the % it has dropped

Once we got more datas then I am able to make graphics.

Things I consider right now is:

Will it change if we look at the Top 500 or Top 1000?

most of the steempower is concentrated in the Top 100

Currently if I just analyze the data's from https://steemwhales.com/

of which the Top 100 control

142955281 Steem Power or 60% from 1-100
72242611 Steem Power or 30% from 2-100

if you exclude the Top 1 you get 30%, since the Top 1 Account is steemit, which I think it reserved for account creation.

Personally I think analyzing Top 500 and Top 1000 would only matter if you exclude the Top 1 Account so you get better Datas:
2-100 are accountable for 30% Steempower
2-200 are accountable for 36% Steempower
2-300 are accountable for 38% Steempower
2-400 are accountable for 38% Steempower
2-500 are accountable for 38% Steempower
2-1000 are accountable for 40% Steempower

Personally I think analyzing Top 500 gives you a good idea, adding 500 increases my work, but the 2% more Steem Power are not really providing a lot of more datas, or what do you think @Jerrybanfield?

I decided to take also the Top 500 and Top 1000 into consideration here is the list of those down powering:

Interesting. Of course that all data that can be seen, collected and analyzed. I'm still relatively new to Steemit so i wonder how this will affect the platform and perhaps the Steem price on the market.

I think that is exactly the thought that Jerry Banfield has and if someone analyze it on a daily basis then we can make thesis and take actions on what to expect in the future.

Very nice explorative research for gaining insights and familiarity for later investigation. For example a starting point for further investigation into the difference between those powering down and not. I give you 10/10 for scientific Steemit relevance.

thx I wanted to make it as scientic but not boring at the same time.

will probably make a daily analysis to get more datas for future evaluation.

I think you need to do better analysis. Just because an account is "powering down" doesn't mean that account isn't powering up at that same time. Steemcleaners for instance is powering down in order to have liquid steem for reward payouts but it powers up far more than it takes out every week. You can't just look at a flag and say what an account is doing. It takes more analysis than that.

ok thanks for the feedback so looking at the data's more in deep seems to be needed, I am just trying to understand that Whales dont have enough payouts, and power up and down at the same can basically mess up the data's, it will basically involve looking deeper into each power down then.

It's a thesis, not a statement. The thesis could be wrong or right ;-)

Powering down has been a bit demonized on the platform, so I want to say my account is in a constant state of power down which I do in order to gain a sense of liquidity. If one were to check out my wallet, you will see I have actually transferred more money in than money out.

Powering down and selling are not the same thing. :) Cheers.

definetly, thanks for your comment
