I had NO intentions of posting today buy heck man!!!! - NOT celebrating this would just be wrong on SO many levels! We face so much criticism and scrutiny on a daily basis from the worlds eyes as well as within our own borders but today we proved the passion behind the people of our beautiful country! In the words of our amazing captain Siya Kolisi... “We can achieve anything if we work together as one” Today the Springboks proved this and I hope that those words ring long, hard and true in the ears of ALL South Africans! He is a PRIME example of what a beacon of hope looks like. Between Siya and Rassie, they brought together what was (not so long ago) a very scattered and disjointed Springbok team - flipped them on their heads, and brought them together to become the world class champions that they always have been but forgot they were! The politicians and members of government could seriously take a leaf out of Siya Kolisi's book! We are such an incredible nation, with SO much passion, talent and promise and it is moments like today that are demonstrative of that! I genuinely hope that this win will make the people of our country - STOP and THINK! Even throughout this tournament the boys had to deal with so much inaccurate media slander - something which they really didn't need - but they triumphed and came out tops because they wanted it, they worked for it and they got it! Open your eyes South Africa and look to the leaders that truly count... the one's that put their all into showcasing our strengths - not the ones who manipulate and divide us!

YES! So worth celebrating and posting on a Sunday. I lived in SA back in '97 right after the end of Apartheid and during the Truth & Reconciliation Commission hearings. It was an amazing experience and the Bokkes played for the Rugby and Cricket Championships. I've made a few trips back in the last 5 years making my return to SA dream come true. We lived in Jo-berg back in '97 and visited the Cape - amazing! More recently I did some work in Cape Town at the University of Western Cape. I'll post some pics of Rugby matches soon. One of my best friends lives in the Cape and I hope to return and visit sooner than later. Congrats on the win and a trending post!
