Satori Spoils - Kalk Bay - Cape Town South Africa

Nothing beats an impromptu evening out and yesterdays decision to head out for dinner was not on the cards at all, in fact I had spent my entire day in my pj's loafing around on the sofa. Yesterday was a public holiday here in Cape Town, so I was excused for being a pleb the whole day haha! - However, I did rectify that at about 5.30pm when we decided to go out. We wanted to go somewhere that we have not been before and had originally intended to go to a place called "Louis on the Block" which is relatively close to home, but when we got there they appeared to be closed - unless they were all dining in the dark, which is also not an impossibility here in South Africa with all our electricity load shedding haha!

Anyway, we had to find a new venue and headed off to Kalk Bay which is about a 15 min drive from home. I have shared many of our adventures in that beautifully quint suburb, but last night was to be a new one. We decided to take the scenic route and drove over Boyes Drive which is a mountain route offering some of the most spectacular views and last night was no exception! The moon and its reflection coupled with all the suburb lights literally took my breath away! Sadly, my snap shots of that really don't do it's magnificence justice!

Jude was adamant that he wanted bolognaise for dinner, so essentially we were on the hunt for something Italian. We arrived, parked, took a 2 minute walk - along which we came across this really beautiful art piece on the side of one of the buildings. It was hundreds and hundreds of tiny little butterflies made from paper and other materials. It was too beautiful - and it is things like this that make me fall in love with Cape Town again and again! Around the corner and a little further down the road spotted the word "pizza" painted on the wall - and we knew that if they had pizza, there was a 99% chance they would have pasta - and we were in luck!

We were greeted at the door of SATORI by such a friendly and enthusiastic hostess - sadly I omitted to get her name. The restaurant was already pretty full, and me being the fussy nonsense that I am, I had my eye on a table which was actually already reserved. Our hostess very quickly went to see what she could do and as it turned out, the people who had booked it were quite late, so again - we got lucky.

We sat down at our very cosy table, boasting a sofa seat and cushions which was fantastic for Jude to relax. We ordered our drinks and Jude's pasta immediately and I have to say - our jaws dropped on the floor at how quickly the bolognaise arrived! Normally the food can't arrive quick enough for a starving and near death child lol - but WOW it was literally there within 5 minutes... and was absolutely two thumbs up in Jude's book! In fact it was almost as if we did not have a specifically dedicated waiter/tress - they all just seemed to chip in and help one another. It was fantastic to see such positively approached team work!

Dave and I took a little longer to decide what we wanted, and after some coaxing from our lovely hostess, I opted for their Seafood Fettuccine which was fresh West Coast Black Mussels, Calamari, Capers, Shrimp, Cubed Fish and olives tossed in a Napolitano Sauce with Chilli and Garlic! Dave took a more traditional and slightly altered direction with his choice of Fillet steak with mushroom sauce.

Again, both our meals arrived very speedily and were both absolutely DIVINE! It was great to try something as exotic as I did and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Nice healthy portion sizes too! We seldom do dessert, but there was malva pudding on the menu and how can you not be a complete sucker for a deliciously hot slice of malva covered in custard! Jude also decided to splash out with a hot chocolate, and whilst he said it was great - he did announce that it was not quite as good as moms haha - but hey, in their defence, I do make hot chocolate with milk alone and as far as kids go, it would take a lot to beat the Nesquik bunny lol!

It was an absolutely brilliant evening, in a truly unique little spot. We will definitely be visiting them again soon to try out some more of their mouth watering dishes.

Until next time...
Much Love from Cape Town, South Africa xxx

WHO ARE THE

Power House Creatives _night mode.png

The Power House Creatives is a discord community of individuals who are committed to producing content which adds value across multiple platforms. We are STRONGLY focused on supporting our fellow members individual growth as well as offering support to those that are still trying to get ahead. We are a CLOSE KNIT community of individuals, each with our own strengths, passions and input, yet ALL willing to go the extra mile for our family members... WHY? - because, simply put - we CARE about one another and MANY HANDS make light work! - THAT is what FAMILY is about! - To infinity and beyond...

text15.png

INTERESTED IN JOINING THE PHC FAMILY?

As most of you already know our community is closed. This does not mean that we are trying to keep people out or that we ignore those who aren’t members – it simply means that we are focused on keeping our standards of content high and our member commitment higher. I think if nothing else, we have proven those two qualities to the Steemisphere over the last year and even more so in the last seven days.

I am not going to sugar-coat things for anybody, because it would not make any sense whatsoever, nor would it serve anybody fruitfully - long-term. Our community is incredibly proactive - and DRIVING the success and growth of the people within it is our FUNDAMENTAL PURPOSE, because this is how they are able to do the same in return for other individuals in communities beyond our own! Our reach extends WAY beyond our own walls and this is one of the primary reasons why it is important to ALL OF US that each of our members are able to hold our flag high wherever they may roam.

We work hard, we play hard - we support one another through thick and thin, we know whats going on in our "3D" lives and no matter what it is - we are there for each other! Yes, there are daily responsibilities and obligations. Yes, there are things that fly within our walls and things that definitely don’t. Yes, we require quite a bit from you as an individual but you get it tenfold in return and ANY ONE of our members will gladly testify to this. Absolutely EVERYTHING is catered for and considered… including those times when you will NOT be able to fulfill your obligations. It simply requires the following of our procedures, which once you have grasped – are not complicated at all - I promise.

Everybody in our community jokes about my “boot” because they know that there are certain things that never were and never will be tolerated within our walls… and when they surface, those people will very quickly meet my infamous “boot” sending them out the door – or at least showing them that it is open. A few such things would be the likes of: not doing what you promised to do when joining, not being a team player, plagiarism, spamming, causing trouble with other members etc. These are all no-brainers really, so should not be much of a shock or challenge to anyone who is actually on Steemit (or any other platform) to make it a better place for everyone!

We may be a relatively small collective, but we have approx. 118 members from over 30 countries and that continues to grow. Most of our members are also key players in some of Steemits other highly regarded and supportive discord communities and initiatives - and all of us at “home” know without question or doubt that every single one of our members will make us proud with whatever they do – wherever they go – and that is precisely how we intend to keep it. Simple as that! No, this kind of “ethos” does not work for everyone – and that is perfectly fine - Each to their own. The people who have done the “putting in” are the ones that understand what they “get out” of it all ;)

So, if I have not scared you away yet, or if the above info excites you (even better) and you would still like to put in an application to join our fantabulous and VERY crazy little family… then by all means – hop into our applications server and do the necessary.

YEAH BABY YEAH - I WANT TO APPLY

Looks like some really decent food, and a nice looking place as well! The butterfly (?) wall art is pretty damn amazing! Lucky finds are the best, although the danger is that you will keep going there and then miss other lucky finds... or dodge bad ones!

Lucky you to be able to lounge around on the sofa all day long without a care in the world, but luckier still to be able to go out and eat nice ...

How I love your posts)) I get less and less into the dictionary every time))) And I noticed the evening was a success!)

Great post with beautiful pictures. The landscape pictures were breathtaking, whether you thought they did the view justice or not! And that artwork with the butterflies - how original. And then the food and drinks - looks like my kind of place! Don't you just love it when you stumble upon something great by accident?

Some great art indeed!
Isn’t the complete set of footers becoming too big? Took my ages before I could cast my upvote!

HAHAHAHA!!! I must speak for the people I believe in most xxx

Great post, abraços aqui do brasil!!!!

Thank you :)

Epic post, @jaynie! The food looks absolutely delightful.

Oh my dear lord that DESSERT

One of the things I missed, when I moved from Fish Hoek to Harfield, was that glorious full moon on the sea as you come down Clairvaux Road. Used to see it often when I headed home after late meetings. Sartori looks divine!

Nice restaurant, I like the speedy service. The food looks very good, fancy presentation. Thumbs up for this place. I wonder if it is expensive. I think it is above average. 😊

I wanted to comment on your content- that it was quite an awesome way to end a holiday but you know what, your pictures distract me and they are seriously making me hungry!
