Different Choices

I am lucky enough to have some containers that are very close by where I can watch the different pollinators on my plants.

When it comes to the bees, one would think that they would visit all of the flowering plants, but, it has come to my notice that this is not so.
It would seem that they have their favourites - or maybe, they each select a type of flower and stay there.

My perennial basil is a great favourite with the bees and they stay around this plant for most of the day - and only this plant.
Quite close by there are lots of the lovely yellow wild rocket flowers which bees love - but the bees on these flowers do not go and join the bees on the basil flowers.
It would seem that they do this on purpose - perhaps they signal to each other?/

This year I planted violas with some veggies - the bees do not seem to be attracted to them, but butterflies do.

I suppose the answer would be to have many different types of flowers to attract even more beneficial insects into the garden.
