If you have never tried planting seeds of heirloom veggies, I really think that you should give them a try.
Ever since I started growing with heirloom seeds, I have been absolutely thrilled with the results.
There is something so special in the knowledge that your plants are still the same variety that was grown decades ago and is still true to form.
Yesterday I did a quick picking of some of my veggies as you can see in the image below.
My big surprise was a black pepper hiding below some leaves of the plant - I felt like doing a happy dance when I saw it!
Also, my yellow heirloom tomatoes ( and some red ones) - not to mention my beans which just keep on going - I thought the beans would be finishing now, but every day there is another handful to pick.
All the veggies are grown in containers and grown organically with no use of pesticides or chemical fertilizers - and best of all, they taste delicious!

They are really beautiful. You did great job to maintained them through the gardening season! I wish I can successfully harvest oxheart tomatoes this summer :) I'll see!

Sometimes I don't think people realize or understand the significance of heirloom seeds. I try to buy all my seeds this way, unless it's a new plant I'm experimenting with in the garden... if I like it and want to add again next season,then I'll get the heirloom variety of it.
