Strawberry Picking! {Spring 2019 First Edition}

Nothing fancy on the frozen ones so far. I just washed, hulled and halved them. Then I lay them out on a baking sheet to freeze so they don't all clump together. It takes a little longer since I can only do so much at a time but makes it easier to pull out however much I need later on down the line than just tossing them all in a bag to start and having it freeze into one big mass of berries. :)

Your coffee cake looked totally awesome! Well worth the share for all of us who may eventually try to recreate it since we're not lucky enough to be your neighbor.

Thanks for the book recommendation! I'm in the market for some new good books to read. I like a good series, too. Though I always get kind of sad when I get to the end and have to say good-bye to the characters I've come to love. :)

You’re a genius. I just try and break up my one big lump of berries by smashing them on the counter. It’s not a pretty scene. Can’t wait to see what you concoct from your strawberry haul.

I, too, get sad when I finish the books. I get addicted to them while reading and sad when I finish. It’s an illness but the cool thing about these is the author put out two additional books so it’s almost like a fiveology (or whatever a 5 book series is called 🤷🏼‍♀️).

Haha, to be fair I did see it somewhere else first. Though it's been so long now I can take credit for the idea myself. Which reminds me I think I still have a sheet pan in the freezer that I haven't transferred to a freezer bag yet...

I think the worst series frustration I had was just last year I started reading the Sue Grafton alphabet series before I realize she had died before completing it. I got all the way to X I think before I found out she only got through Y. The family didn't want anyone else finishing, so there was never a final Z book to wrap it up.

What? That sounds horrible. What an anticlimactic series that must’ve been. How dare she not finish before leaving us 🥶 Now I know what books I won’t be reading. Haha

I like that philosophy though… if enough time passes then you get credit for the idea- brilliant again! Haha
