I am going to cut straight to the chase and say that, yes, I know the previous version of this was supposed to be my last updated version of the RRB x PPG Pairings. However, this particular version is my true last one, as I will not hold back on which pairing category ended up getting either the OTP or the NOTP treatment. Meaning, there are going to be no conditions, no pussyfooting around, and no leniency towards certain pairings. With all of the changes of my tastes coming into full swing, I figured that this final, more touched-up, and more blunt version will be able to suffice.
With that said, let us get started. Much like the previous entries, I prefer to start off with my NOTPs and save my OTPs for last.
My NOTPs for Life: The Color-Code Couples (Boomubbles, Blossick, and especially Butchercup), the most overrated, over-loved, overpraised set of couples ever!
Oh boy, I am going to get a lot of hate from hardcore color-code shippers when I mention this. However, it needs to be said. I can no longer stand the color-coded couples any longer. Everything about this particular set of couples screams monotony, overratedness, and severe disinterest given how many times I have been seeing way too many color-code couple fanworks when there are actually better and healthier relationships for these six superhumans.
Sure, I did love Boomubbles before because of how sweet and lovely they were but nowadays I cannot stomach anymore of the Blues' syrupy, diabetes-inducing sentimentality that otherwise makes me fully realize how one-note their relationship would end up being. Boomer and Bubbles as a couple does tend to get really boring after a while given how their similarities may have something positive but I just think that a great friendship would be a nice alternative for these two blue-clad, blonde lovelies. Other than that, my adoration for Boomubbles has officially gone down the drain and it will never resurface.
BlosSICK still makes me extremely fussy, frustrated, and fed up with how huge the Reds' egos are and the competitiveness that tends to permeate between these two red-clad "big siblings". Everywhere I go, Blossick seems to be the big poster child for being the greatest RuffPuff couple ever just because they are the designated eldest siblings of their families, look wonderful in red, are smart in their own ways, and have the most opposites. However, even in spite of those reasons for why people love to ship Blossick, I fail to see the appeal of these two ending up in a long-lasting relationship. It may be just me and my jadedness towards the Reds, but I firmly believe that there are actually better pairings for these two, and a friendship between Brick and Blossom would be just fine and dandy altogether.
However, the color-code couple that grinds my gears the most, makes my hair stand on end, and has received my most visceral hatred, wrath, and unending frustration has to be Butchercup. The Greens' as a couple terrify me because Butch and Buttercup are a clear, undeniable example of what it feels like to be in a Karmic relationship. Their relationship would end up being cruelly unhealthy, absolutely repetitive, and their stubborn, aggressive, loud, over-competitive personalities are akin to being asked to attend a concert where the instrumentalists are playing their works with nails on chalkboards. Butchercup is indubitably that atrocious, pernicious, and it will end up sucking my soul into inferno. The thought of Butch and Buttercup ending up in a relationship is enough to make my blood boil because it will not end well and it will only end in tears, death, pain, and atrocity. How can one possibly survive such a damaging relationship as the Greens? Good question. These two would end up getting themselves into new addictions and kill each other with a drop of a hat!
When all is said and done, I am through with color-code couples. I may have shipped them when I was a lot younger, but now as an adult, there is nothing there for this set of couples anymore that I can root for. I have seen enough color-code for one day. As much as it also breaks my heart to say farewell to Boomubbles as my last salvaging hope of finding something positive in this otherwise overrated set of pairings, it is for the best that I keep the color-code couples' relationships strictly and utterly platonic and as really good friends.
My Liked Pairings: The Color-Crack Couples (Blossutch, Brickubbles, and Boomercup), cute, innocent, and lovely pairings which leave a warm, fuzzy feeling within me.
On a great day, Butch x Blossom, Brick x Bubbles, and Boomer x Buttercup can actually function as pretty good couples with a sufficient amount of great health and interesting synergy on the relationship department. However, in the long run, they would end up being nothing more than just a series of first crushes.
Boomercup is the cutest of the color-crack couples because of how much positivity there will be with Boomer being the lovable dumb muscle that he is and smoothing Buttercup's rough edges. Meanwhile, Buttercup can be able to aid Boomer increase his self-esteem and be the strong person he is intended to be. Ergo, though a romantic relationship is highly unlikely, a great friendship based on camaraderie, understanding, and empathy is definitely a great prospect for these two.
Brickubbles is not only cute, lovely, and sweet but also absolutely amazing in terms of how much moral support and synergy there is between the red-clad leader and the baby blue-clad pacifist. They can truly see the best in each other, as Brick could help Bubbles express her hardcore side a lot more especially when she is in grave danger while Bubbles could see a more compassionate, supportive, protective, kind soul in Brick. On a superficial level, this pairing would function as a sort of popular, cool jock hooking up with the preppy, cheery cheerleader. However, look beneath the surface, and one would see an extremely firm friendship and a great potential for Brick and Bubbles to have a much firmer bond as the closest in-laws.
I still really like Blossutch to this day. However, given all of the recent changes to my preferred ships for these two, this comes off more as a strong first crush which still hits home rather hard. Given how Butch has always been dependent on Brick as well as his tendency to let his fists fly at the slightest provocation, thus lacking self control, Blossom would easily understand that Butch does need someone to listen to him more often. She will indubitably come into his life and ensure that he can be his own person and he does not always need to be Brick's lapdog all the time. As for Butch, he would easily be touched by Blossom's compassion, kindness, diligence, and attentiveness, thus making him understand how Blossom's brand of respect can make him look up to her on several occasions. Therefore, synergy may be present even to the point where they will end up as the strongest of allies and use their combat prowess to give enemies a great beating.
The color-crack couples may have their brand of loveliness, especially Blossutch, but there is one set of couples who have made it on top of my beloved OTP list. I bet you know who they all are.
My Most Beloved, Esteemed, Exalted OTPs of all time: The Color-Clash Couples (Blossoomer, Brickercup, and Butchubbles), the greatest, healthiest, most synergetic, and most dynamic couples ever!
My admiration, love, and sheer fascination with Brick x Buttercup, Butch x Bubbles, and Boomer x Blossom will never waver whatsoever, and I am very blessed, grateful, and happy to be a hardcore color-clash shipper. Moreover, I am just as glad to surround myself with equally awesome fellow color-clash shippers such as KatyGorl, BrickercupMasterX3, YokoAnimeProductions, PurfectPrincessGirl, and the great xahCHUx all thanks to their passion, dedication, and inspiration for not only making wonderful pieces of Brickercup, Butchubbles, and Blossoomer fan-related works but also for opening my eyes to these exceptional couples.
Butchubbles has a wonderfully comforting, quilting, and lovely element to it because of how exceptionally well Butch and Bubbles can be able to root for each other through thick and thin. These two can be able to help each other in many profound ways, thus making them endure every trial with positivity, optimism, hope, and unconditional love. Moreover, they can be able to show loads of protection and durability with Butch using his strength, might, and toughness to protect Bubbles from all kinds of harm and Bubbles using her compassion, attentiveness, and kind heart to tame the beast within Butch. Therefore, they will always end up moving forward every single time.
In terms of quantity, I have been shipping Brickercup for the longest time in comparison to the other color-clash couples. My main reason for loving this couple is attributed to how well their strong, fiery, fierce, and rambunctious personalities can mesh. If that is not enough, there will also be an element of undying respect from both Brick and Buttercup, as Brick would respect Buttercup for being outspoken and her own person and Buttercup would respect Brick for how independent, determined, and large-and-in-charge he is. Given how fierce Brick and Buttercup are as both combatants and people, they will be able to display loads of resilience and oodles of determination, thus proving themselves to be inseparable.
Quality-wise Blossoomer takes the cake in terms of not only my most favorite color-clash couple of all time but also my most favorite overall RuffPuff couple ever. It literally says something that the genuineness, the earnest nature, the beauty, the purity, the unconditional love, and the sheer awesomeness of the Cotton Candy Couple have made me root for Boomer and Blossom to have their happily ever after. Blossoomer is a glorious combination of undying loyalty, unconditional love, unwavering persistence, and unending joy, thus making them a clear-cut example of being in a very healthy, synergetic, and loving relationship based on allegiance, hope, and courage. Boomer can be able to help Blossom not take everything too seriously and appreciate her for who she is and not what other people want her to be. Meanwhile, Blossom can be able to help Boomer stand up for himself and can see a strong, persistent fighter in him, thus making her believe in him in everything he does and inspiring him to believe in himself.
It is with proud joy and euphoria that I dub the color-clash couples as my most awesome OTPs for life and my love, admiration, and inspiration for them will never waver.
