Catching up on all the busy-ness

I've been so busy lately, getting things done, working on crafting regalia, spending g time with friends and working that I e narrowly had time to do things for myself.

Of course, all of the things I've been doing have been primarily to meet my own goals and this kind of thing, but I've been suffering in some areas.

Namely the sleep department.

For those of you wondering. The pow wow was amazing. Had a great time. Danced hard, and sang like crazy.

I've recieved some recognition from a few people that my skills are coming along.

It's such an interesting way of life that I've come to know and love.

Normally I travel just with my drum group, but the hometown pow wow club went out to Yorkton ahead of us. So I had the chance to have a run in with the drama that brings.

It seems one of the ladies who never does anything, or even shows up for that matter; had been spreading rumors about how the funds would be used for. A series of fundraisers that had taken place.

Feelings were hurt once they realized what had happened, and we lost one of the girls to a fit of misunderstanding. Disappointing, but aparently unavoidable.

I did what I could to help her avoid unnecessary expenses, but she was caught up in her own mind. So, I learned why we just travel out in our drum group. And stick to ourselves. It's far too easy to grt caught up in other people's stuff when you let it.

Best to focus on drumming, and dancing when it's what you go for.

So, it was a great experience.

Let's just say, I'm really glad that the dinner break was cancelled and we just ate when we could. As it was, we got back home pretty late. And I didn't sleep much the night before. So yesterday I slept for fourteen hours. And today, is looking like another ten hours. Which is atypical for me, but also much needed.
