After announcement nearly two years back Schlumberger DELFI platform now is live and provides access to its industry leading softwares and workflows to industry through cloud based infrastructure.

However, their licensing model still not automatic. One still have to request for licenses. Their bundling plan to extract more $ from customer is another issue that will be a hindrance for cost sensitive service providers like my company ShilazTech.

What they should have allowed is automatic licensing and let the user decide which modules it wants to use. That would have helped consulting firms like ShilazTech to reduce the cost of their offering to its customers.
