WW2 Prayer

I can watch documentaries and films about WW2 for days, with no pause; it inspires me with most authentic feelings of humanity and compassion.
These days it just cross my mind a beautifull prayer I heard, while waching a film about war. It happens in one of the most touching situations and I'd like to share it here.
There was a priest, wearing army uniform, he was offering first aid on the battlefield as well. The night was falling and he was talking with a young soldier about the war and how they miss to be home, in peace, then the soldier runs to resist with fire.
The battle started on the ground and the bombs lighted up the sky; the priest waits in entrenchment, knowing he would face a cruel reality if he will be needed, so he starts to pray:

"Heavenly Father help me not to seek for love, so I can be the love for the others,
Help me not to seek for understanding, so I can understand the others,
Help me to heal my sorrows, so I can be the relief for the others."
