Goalkeeper:
Ben Foster (West Brom)
Opponent: Brighton (H)
Price: £4,4M
Why?
Our choice for goalkeeper is controversial. However, West Brom have kept the sheets clean in their two previous games. Two of the games with conceded goals have been against United and Arsenal. Brighton haven’t scored an away goal in the Premier League in their last six matches (!). We are picturing a dull game where there might not be many save points, but to be able to get a clean sheet from a £4,4m goalkeeper will be worth it.
Points last five gameweeks: 2-3-8-1-1
Upcoming matches: Everton (A) - City (A)
DEFENDERS:
Jamaal Lascelles (Newcastle)
Opponent: Swansea (H)
Price: £4,6M
Why?
Newcastle are coming from two clean sheets to face a Swansea that we believe will be playing in the Championship next season. Benitez knows that if they keep a clean sheet, they are most likely to gain three points and he will probably create a game plan from this theory. This is a game none of the teams can afford to lose and we are therefore picturing a tight game with few goals.
Points last five gameweeks: 8 - 6 - 2 - 1 - 2
Upcoming matches: City (A) - Burnley (H)
Cesar Azpilicueta (Chelsea)
Opponent: Leicester (H)
Price: £7,0M
Why?
Bonus machine! Has 15 bonus points so far this year, six assists and one goal. We don’t think the game will end in a clean sheet but Azpilicueta is a must in the squad. Chelsea will entertain at home and Leicester usually scores a few goals so this will be a fun match.
Points last five gameweeks: 1 - 6 - 12 - 6 - 7
Upcoming matches: Brighton (A) - Bournmouth (H)
Angelo Ogbonna (West Ham)
Opponent: Huddersfield (A)
Price: £4,5M
Why?
Decent price for a player who plays 90 mins every week. West Ham have gotten better defensively after Moyes takeover and are entering a good period with green matches.
Points last five gameweeks: 2 - 2 - 0 - 1 - 6
Upcoming matches: Bournemouth (H) - Crystal Palace (H)
MIDFIELDERS:
David Silva (Man City)
Opponent: Liverpool (A)
Price: £8,1M
Why?
Silva is back after problems on the home front and returns to a game that we think will have lots of chances, open play and plenty of room to run. This will fit the pass general Silva like a glove. If he is not noted for an assist, he’ll probably climb high on the bonus list. He can’t be left out from a game we are pretty certain he’s gonna play.
Points last five gameweeks: 1 - 0 - 0 - 3 - 0
Upcoming matches: Newcastle (H) - West Brom (H)
Son Heung-min (Tottenham)
Opponent: Everton (H)
Price: £8,1M
Why?
Perhaps the most underestimated player in the PL? He has shown great ability in counter-attacks as well as his finishing. His deadly runs into the box has made him one of Pochettino’s most loyal players. Scored seven goals and four assists so far this season.
Points last five gameweeks: 9 - 3 - 14 - 3 - 2
Upcoming matches: Southampton (A) - United (H)
Riyad Mahrez (Leicester)
Opponent: Chelsea (A)
Price: £8,6M
Why?
Riyad Mahrez has found his mojo going into the transfer window. He has been involved in 17 goals so far this season, which is more than he had at the same time of the year when Leicester won the Premier League title. Mahrez is likely to run the game against Chelsea and he will have to do a lot of the work himself. This is something we know he can pull off!
Points last five gameweeks: 14 - 5 - 8 - 5 - 2
Upcoming matches: Watford (H) - Everton (A)
Ruben Loftus-Cheek (Crystal Palace)
Opponent: Burnley (H)
Price: £4,6M
Why?
Has been a decent player for Crystal Palace after they realized that the series had started. A cheap player who will play. Has created a lot of chances and shown his offensive ability. One goal and 4 assists so far this season, but I’m sure we can expect more from Lofthus-Cheek
Points last five game weeks: 0 - 0 - 2 - 7 - 6
Upcoming matches: Arsenal (A) - West Ham (A)
STRIKERS:
Harry Kane (Captain) (Tottenham)
Opponent: Everton (H)
Price: £12,9M
Why?
What can we say? The man has found his form in the Christmas fixtures. A must no matter the opponent. Has played two matches with no goals. We reckon last year’s top goal scorer in the Premier League will do something about this. Everton will face a hard time at Wembley. Our captain.
Points last five game weeks: 2 - 1 - 17 - 17 - 1
Upcoming matches: Southampton (A) - United (H)
Sergio Aguero (Man City)
Opponent: Liverpool (A)
Price: £11,7M
Why?
With Jesus on the sideline we prefer Aguero as a striker. Always deadly in top matches and will for sure produce a lot of goals for the league’s definite top team over the next few months.
Points last five game weeks: 6 - 1 - 2 - 16 - 1
Upcoming matches: Newcastle (H) - West Brom (A)
Callum Wilson (Bournemouth)
Opponent: Arsenal (H)
Price: £5,7M
Why?
A striker who is deadly effective in front of the goal when injury-free. Will face an Arsenal-defense who gives away points for free every weekend. We think Wilson will take advantage of this at a fair price.
Points last five game weeks: 6 - 2 - 7 - 2 - 0
Upcoming matches: West Ham(A) - Chelsea (A)
Good luck
