Acorn Squash, Rice, and Spam PrepperCookOff 2 entry

I rolled and got rice and winter squash. To it i decided add classic spam.

I did use modern appliances to prepare this however i do have the solar capacity to run them. I also have the means to protect them so will have power when the sun is shining in a shtf situation.

Additional ingredients i used were beef bullion cubes, dried garlic, onion powder, olive oil, salt and pepper, mustard powder and turmeric powder.

I cut the acorn squash in half, removed the seeds, coated with olive oil, sprinkled with salt and pepper. Baked peel up for 20 min, flipped and baked for 10 min more. I added the spam for the last 5min to crisp it up.

I cooked the rice in my pressure cooker as i like the set and forget cooking. I made a broth from the cubes, garlic and onion powder, added the rice and pressed the brown rice button.

After the squash was cooked, i scraped the flesh out and mixed it with the spam and rice. I tried it and found it a little bland so added the turmeric and mustard.

I then had my kids try it and my son was not impressed. My daughter initially did not like it but said it was good, a little spicy for her taste.
