Two emails hit my inbox today, and although both are from sites offering to sell survival items, the information they provide is a worthwhile read. I have purchased survival gear (or books) from both outlets, and recommend them for their quality and customer service.
This first article is from Survival Frog, and it lists eight skills that would be useful in a survival situation. Although there are many other skills that could become essential, useful, and even profitable when bartering or exchanging goods when or after conventional currency won't serve, the eight listed are basic and a good place to start thinking of honing ones skills. The first article can be found here:
8 Hobbies That Double As Survival Skills
The second article is from WND, and discusses preparations one should take in the event of an Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) attack, whether it occurs as a military attack, or a Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) from the sun. The author focuses his article primarily on an EMP attack, but preparedness for such an event could also cover extreme solar disturbances. The second article can be read here:
Americans Need to Prep for EMP, Experts Warn
Both articles and highly informative and worthwhile reading. While you're at these sites, you can browse many useful items you may not find elsewhere.
Keep prepping! ~ @longshot
