Divided government?

According to the polls, Trump is on course to win the presidency while Democrats are on course to win the key Senate races.

Given that WV is an obvious lost cause for them and so they will wind up with a 50-50 Senate and Trump's vice president being the tie-breaker. I am not opposed to divided government and in many ways welcome it but I would think a Republican Senate and a Biden presidency make more sense.

The Republican Senators at least would bring back some semblance of normalcy with Trump out of power. I wonder who is the voter who will vote for Trump and the Democrat Senator. This is not someone who is seeking to burn down the system since this person supports the Democrat party for the Senate.

The best I can figure is that this person does not want to see Biden as president any longer but wants Trump held in check by the Senate. Whether this Trump president with Democrats having half the Senate result holds up until November remains to be seen but if you had asked me at the beginning of the year about likely outcomes in the elections, this is not one I would have foreseen.
